What Are You Doing on Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is probably one of our favorite holidays of the entire year. After a long winter and a so-so spring, the weather is officially warm, and you get a day off, too! Of course, you should take a moment to remember the troops, which is, after all, why you have the day off. But what's the best way to kick off the unofficial start of summer?


The beach is always fun (especially if you live in an area that's just starting to warm up), but it tends to be very crowded on the holiday. If you have a pool in your backyard, lucky you -- nothing better than celebrating with a few friends!

Memorial Day is also a great time to fire up the grill; for many people, it's the first time they do so in nearly a year. Hot dogs are bad news, but lately, we're hearing that grass-fed beef burgers are actually good for you. Yum! And there are plenty of veggie options too, from veggie burgers to actual veggies.

Memorial Day weekend is also a great excuse to spring for a new swimsuit. Don't worry if you're, so to speak, "butt white" -- everyone else is, too! At least you don't look like "tanning mom"!
