I hope you are kidding. It can take many many months to get it out of your system. If dropped to quickly, it can mess with your head and even cause death.My wife had this 'quack' R.N. try and tell her that nobody ever died from 'Benzo' (her words) withdrawal.

I wish I were joking. I am fully addicted to it. I did go cold turkey a few months ago. I was off it for 1 1/2 months but the not being able to sleep, I went back. I want to try and kick it again but I need to find a doctor I can trust. Someone to help me to sleep but not using ambien. A milder drug until I can sleep on my own again. I am scared to do it cold turkey again. I lived but it was a bad bad time.

I understand. Chamomile tea can really help with that. So can Melontonin. Ambien is bad stuff, my doctor recommended it or me. A week later I called him up and asked for something else - I didn't like the results one bit. Might I suggest you get a doctor and request a sleep study??

I am going cold turkey off ambien right now. The terrors are the worst. I am days into the withdrawals. I went to 2 ER's and no help to be had. I have no insurance. They say I will be fine.

Chamomile tea.....try it. It helped me. And, until you're over the worst of it, some kava kava or St. Johns Wort in the morning to relieve the daytime effects. Best of luck. PM me if you need support!

Thanks for the support. I have been afraid to go to bed. I am afraid to lay there and begin to think negative things and make things worse. A hotline I called the woman said to try guided sleep meditation. It worked. It distracted my mind from my own thoughts. I slept a little. I am going to try sleeping again here soon.

I can understand. The meditation is a wonderful idea. It will also help you past what was causing the sleep disturbance to begin with.

I had good sleep from ambien but I became addicted. I began to have withdrawals during the day. I had come to the end of ambien road. I have been taking it for 2-3 years.
