get a big piece of cardboard, frame it, and put it on your wall. for every day you don't cut, put a white thumb tack into the cardboard, on every seventh day stick in a brightly coloured thumb tack, at the start of each new month stick in a red thumb tack. My friend did this for two years, and she hasn't cut since she started her board. Before when she was cutting, she would give herself 12-14 cuts every day. now she's completely stopped. Hope this helps

what i used to do was i had the urge to cut was I would go to my freezer and put ice cubes in a bag and hold them in my hand. You get the whole pain sensation like you do with cutting but you're not doing any harm to your body

    PENGUIN!
    sorry. I like penguins.
More relevantly, cut other people, or listen to the right music.

I personally like painting or drawing. I can convey my emotions through imagery.

I also write sometimes, even if the words don't make sense. I also love sleeping, though that can cause more depression supposedly...

Running is a good one. I wouldn't recommend sleeping because a lot of times sleeping too much often causes depression or is related to depression. Painting is good if you put your emotions into it and don't just paint because you can.
Use a pillow as something to abuse (I mean screaming into it, punching it.. not cutting it. Please don't harm your pillow. He's just trying to make it by in the world.)

Personally, I like reading or exercising. I joined an MMA class and completely stopped cutting. I hope you do too. :)

Punching stuff and other exercises helped me. The rubber band thing didn't work for me, but it's worth a try. My best friend was really helpful, but I think just talking about it could suffice. Music was pretty therapeutic.

I always wear a rubber band and snap it when I feel like I need to cut. Also music. Find music you love and that makes you feel good and stick with it.

Thinking of something other than yourself. It'll start happening in your early 20's.
There's a physiological reason for it-- something to do with brain development that
makes you think differently. Here's a short article about it, so you know I'm not just
    being mean or something:

The moral of the story: get past these torturous years, and you'll be fine.
