Within my own crowd. At our schools the smart kids were treated with more respect than the jocks or preppie types. The preppies were laughed at by the rest of us and the jocks were only popular if they were smart, too. Of course, I went to school in the 50s and 60s when schools were education centers instead of social clubs.

depends on your definition of popular... ive got a lot of friends, but few close friends in school and my best friend doesnt go to my school. the "popular" crowd isnt too big a fan of me tho but thats jus cuz i aint a cheerleader and i dont follow the crowd like a lemming. sooo take that any way you want to

but i dont care either.... all the popular people at least where i go to school are stupid, getting drunk and doing some drugs isnt gunna make you the most popular people later in life. wearing the brand names and acting a certain way is retarded. be who u are! dress to express yourself, not to fit in with whats "cool" ...the end (:

I had lots of friends but I was not part of the IN crowd. My group was made up of people mostly a year ahead of me so the year I was in grade 12 I was more of a loner. I went to parties when they all came home from university.
