    On one side yes, on the other side no, you'd have to go back a few more generations. By the way, they all did it legally.

    Way back, yes but they came here legally as did the many others and it is a shame to grant the same courtesy to illegals without extra restrictions. It is a slap in the face of all who came legally and paid to be legal like by wife

    On my father's side from the UK. My great great grand mother was from Ireland and was sent out here during the potato famine where she met a convict aboard the ship and they got married and started a potato farm in Melbourne.

    My grandparents on my father's side came from Sweden. My grandmother on my mom's side came from Italy and my grandfather came from Germany.

    My own grandparents were not but my mum's mum moved to the UK from Italy at the start of 20th Century. So I am 3/4 English and 1/4 Italian.

    On my father's side, my grandfather's Polish and my grandmother's Austrian.

    My mother's side goes all the way back to Plymouth Rock though.

    To a degree, they moved from Liverpool in England to to Ellan Vannin (The Isle of Man) which is a self-governing British Crown Dependency it being an independently administered jurisdiction, not part of the United Kingdom nor of the European Union. For instance as a result I am Manx not British. I have a Manx passport and driving licence.
