Were you ever close to dying?

Twice. Once I nearly drowned at around 6 years old. The second time when I tried to kill myself in the middle of 7th grade.

I almost drowned when I was 6, and I almost bled to death giving birth to my son.

I fell out of a tree and the concussion seriously injured me.

I have had a few, "This is IT," times, that I got myself out of and also two times, when I was unconcious and got rescued.

I felt like I was on borrowed time for years.

I got electrocuted with 230 volts when I was 12 and got thrown across the room

Many times. You don't live to be old without some luck.....

Well, I guess I have been in an auto accident that could have gone far worse.

almost drowned.... at an amusement park (twice, 2 different ones... for different reasons though)
got something lodged in my throat and was unable to help myself.... then found a way after i started panicking
i try not to put myself in those situations though

When I was year old, i fell off a bunk bed.

When I was 3, I got ran over by a car.

When I was 5, I fell out of a second story window.

And then there was the time I accidentally ate Tide and almost drowned and allergic reactions.

I said no to YOLO. lol

Was at a family lunch at the beach and I decided to go by the water and drowned. My aunt saved me. I was only 5 then.

i forgot to add that i stayed unconscious or about a minute until i spat water out of my mouth.

..I was a medic in Vietnam, so yeah, lotsa times...

When I was an infant.

Yeah twice. When I was born, my umbilical cord was wrapped my neck and it had to be cut because I was so close of being strangled to death. Then when I was a child, I accidentally swallowed a coin. I couldn't swallow so all of my saliva came gushing out my mouth, the doctor told me to try and eat hard food to push it down and it worked!!

1. I was in the hospital with chest pains. The doctor told me I needed open heart surgery or I had one year to live. He then said I had a decision to make. I said "What decision?"
2. Took Motrin and left the house, driving in a rural area and constantly coughing, soon I could not breath. My lungs were closing. I knew if I called 911 they would not get there in time. Stopped at a market and asked gaspingly is they had Benadryl. They did. I quickly ingested numerous capules. and my breathing went back to normal. It was a close call. Note: Everyone should carry Benadryl in their car, golf bag, purse and have it handy in their home. It is a life saver. I was never allergic to Motrin before this incident. My stepdaughter had an incident at a business dinner with a colleage with shrimp. He had never been allergic to it before and now he was. She quickly left the restaurant, went across the street to a drugstore for Benadry and saved his life. Please take heed.
3. I am also a cancer survivor.

I've coded several times and been in a coma 5 times. I actually did die once.

Yes when I was 4 I was at my uncles house and was right at the edge of the pool and there was this kid who was running around the pool and he came up to me and pushed me in and I didn't know how to swim so I started to drown until my uncles step brother jumped in and saved me

Twice... Once in a motorcycle accident... and Once when I caught some stupid rare blood virus from inhaling dried bat poop in a cave while spelunking.

Did you swear off alcohol?

Yeah, needless to say -that was about the beginning of a VERY rough 5-6 yrs of drying out! :)

Kudos to you. I know it wasn't easy but you did it. Congrats. Now you have a new life. That is wonderful.

Thanx & I dont know about the "new life", cause when I sobered up - found out I was kinda-sorta-hitched with a kid! :) lol

Yeah, I was in a bad car wreck back in 1984. Spent 2.5 months in the hospital and was in a coma for a week, critical condition.

no not really and then i dont know......i remember when i was about 22 i was going out with this girl and we was coming back from the seaside and she was driving. we were doing about 80 and i said "look at that line of cars ahead" well they got closer and closer and we both realised that they had stopped.....she took evading action and went on the inside up on the grass and we stopped about 8 cars down on the inside of the queue. so i think we would be dead now.....

Had a reaction to seafood..

I had one incident at four years old. I was swimming in the pool. My parents always told me to not put two tubes around me. My dad was off on the other side of the house and my mom was inside. They let me in the pool alone for some reason. Anyway the tubes flipped over. I felt my legs in the air and the water suffocating my face. I was kicking and kicking. I then broke into a panicked state. I was struggling for my life. I remember the darkness turning into a static like appearance. The oxygen flowing out of my mouth quickly as I screamed into the water. Then just like as quickly as they had flipped it happened again. I was suddenly aware of my surroundings again. My heart was beating quickly and I collected by breath. I then continued on swimming that day. Later that week I taught myself how to swim because I never wanted to depend on a tube again.
