I always feel sad when good users feel they must leave because they get baited into abusive dialogue by morons -- or they leave because they see examples of "hate."
SH has over 1,000,000 registered users talking about passionate topics like abortion, racism, homosexuality, religion, environmentalism, politics, family, sports, etc.... We provide a unique, intimate environment to discuss these hot-button issues. We should all expect idiots to abuse the system and freedom we share on SH -- and report those abuses for SH Abuse Team to handle. They will get resolved in a timely fashion with the appropriate response.
But as SH continues to grow at thousands of users per day, I feel excited about the direction of the community. Everyday new users bring great discussions to the forefront of this exchange of opinions. And in the coming weeks, we'll reveal some new features that will help propel the discussions even further -- making SH a place to discover and discuss the hottest news with the most opinionated community on the internet.
I wish nobody ever left, except the idiot abusers who show their immaturity. I don't like that SH has to staff moderators and employ tools to censor 'free speech' when it crosses the line of tolerance and our TOS.
Well another great SH gone cuzzz of the hate she saw here,my dear friend Jodi....hope those in charge start to notice the grand EXODUS !!!!

we as humans learn the caring of others by how we are cared for, and how to treat others, by how we are treated
so what you are seeing is only a symptom of a social problem created by our "day care" attitude i get these young men and women in the correctional system and they are almost with out exception, relived to get here, to get a break from the world that does not care
kids don't want "quality" time you can tell your self that if it makes you fell better, they want and need "quantity" time, kids see where you spend all of you time where you "waist" your time, with them, or a beer can, with them or out with the guys or girls
if your kids don't feel more important to you than your "stuff" no one else will be important enough to them to treat them with respect.

I've threatened to leave twice. Jodi already left once. BonBon left twice. Sajama frequently takes breaks and has left a time or two herself. that's how it goes...
I liked Jodi.
Some people just get burned out, and I understand where she would be coming from if she has in this case. I've tried to balance my home life, worklife and well SH life and sometimes there isn't enough room for it all.
I will miss her and hopefully she will come back someday and spread some more Southern Hospitality cheer......;o)
Maybe one do Sister, Jodi will come back here and let you know. :D
