Wearing Leather in the Summer: Fashion Do or Fashion Don't?

As much as I love my leather (Alison Mosshart from The Kills is my style icon), sometimes I have a hard time adding it into my summer wardrobe. Thankfully, fashion blog Refinery29 is here to help with this awesome example of how to wear leather during the warmer months. I have a couple more weeks to attempt this look, but what do you guys think? Is wearing leather in the summer a fashion do... or don't?

Nothing to do with fashion, it looks pretty good, but as someone stuck in the middle of a heat wave, the sight of leather sends me sweating.

Unless you relish the feeling of bathing in your own sweat and making squeaky noises every time you move. I'm not a fan of leather clothing at any time of the year however.

Leather is cool. If you live in a cold climate like I do, summer is the time to wear leather. Wear it in winter and you will freeze your ass off. Winter is the time for fur. Summer is the time for leather. If you are a biker any time is leather time.

It's just too hot. Only leather shoes make sense (because, really), but other than that, leather in the summer makes little sense.

I'm a zydeco cowboy... Leather boots, leather belt, leather saddle, leather reins, a horse and trail rides (group or "lonesome dove") I'm good all summer... um year long...

Since it didn't specify the items -- lots of people wear leather shoes/sandals (way more comfy, as leather "breathes", than synthetics)

Leather in the summer is stupis as hell. Just like chicks wearing leather boots with shorts or dresses and its 95 degrees out.

my leather chaps, jacket, gloves, and helmet saved my sorry ass when i laid over my Rebel as i was learning how to ride. i never ride without my armor!

it looks cute. and as long as you're suffocating underneath it all. i wear hoodies and jeans all year round. that's what i like to wear. if she wants to wear a leather skirt or leather pants, then damnit go for it.
