The world's fattest sausage dog 'Obie' weighing a staggering five and a half stone has been put on a drastic diet to try and get him back into shape.

Overweight Obie, who is double the size of an average Dachshund, was nearly fed to death by his doting elderly owners who had to give him up because of their deteriorating health. Vet Nora Vanetta heard about his condition and has now taken him in determined help him lose weight.

That's criminal neglect to let a dog get that fat :( Cool shaped bowl there. Assuming this video was made by the vet who wants to help him....why is he getting lunch? Dogs only need one meal a day.....

Awe man...I was hoping the video would be of him waddling around, not scarfing down food. I'm a little disappointed :(

Obie (se) should Name Him Hoover if a parent let their Kid get that fat, they call it abuse.

That's so sad. My dog is part dachshund. She definitely loves food and would over eat if I let her. It's my responsibility to keep her healthy and not let something like this happen.
