Waking up in a pool of sweat & racing heart?

Kelli 2012/05/24 04:16:07
Lately my hands have been shaking pretty bad and have felt extremely weak and tired. Tonight, I went to sleep and I'm a pretty hard sleeper, woke up 2 hours later covered in sweat, I am not over exaggerating, it was that bad. I felt dizzy and disoriented. My stomach was cramping really bad, I felt nauseated and had a bad heart burn. My heart was racing faster and harder than I can even describe. My chest just plain hurt, I felt like I couldn't breath. Wheezing. I jumped up and took my blood pressure pills thinking that may be the problem (plus they lower heart rate). I have bad hypertension (Only 22 year old female but it's hereditary). After 15 minutes of calm breathing, drinking some cold water, taking my emergency blood pressure pills and some asprin my heart rate went down to 105, it was around 185. My chest still hurts and so do my lungs and I had a coughing attack. What could it have been? Panic Attack? Sickness? Etc?

Have you had your thyroid checked recently?
It could be 'any of the above'... have your doctor check some labs.

Contact your Dr. immediately and describe all of this to him/her....there could be an underlying problem....not something to ignore....But, logging on to SH must have made you feel better.....:D

You need to get checked out by a cardiologist. It could have been a panic attack or a heart attack. The fact that your chest is still hurts leads me towards the latter. I've had a panic attack. They aren't much fun, but there wasn't any pain afterwards.

SEE A PHYSICIAN/ ER Immediately and let a pro diagnose.

Could have been, but chest pain is nothing to ignore... I would ask you to go to ER
