Vice President Joe Biden tried to defend his unpopular position on same sex marriage by saying, “Look, I just think that the good news is that as more and more Americans come to understand what this is all about is a simple proposition. Who do you love?"

Simple? I don' t think so. Nearly 41% of first marriages in America end in divorce. Theses divorces likely began with a loving relationship. They all learned that it takes more than love to make a marriage (or any relationship) work.

After watching a video last week about how the cattle and cows, the pigs and chickens are treated and slaughtered I think I'll stick to fruits and vegatables. Thank you. Did you try a good mango lately? I love mangos.

Absolutely love mangoes. Try them with peaches, a little lemon juice, and some cilantro. Very good.
For a change, use avocado instead of the peach, and add jalapeno, onion, and garlic.

I never heard of "cilantro'. I don't like avocados but my wife loves them. I really can't eat anything really hot, I gag on hot food. But I do love onions and garlic. I started drinking mango juice while i was in the Philippines instead of soda or beer. I loved it. Now I look for juices with mango in them or buy whole mangoes.

Other names are Coriander or Chinese Parsley. If you've had salsa, you've had it. It's a staple in Mexican and Oriental cuisine.

Well my wife is from the Philippines but not a big cook just basic stuff. I looked up what it was on Google earlier. I do like to learn something new as often as possible. My wife wants me to go on Who wants to be a millionaire. Thank God they usually don't have questions on spelling. lol

I was in the PI in 1961. Great people. There are a lot of Phillipinos who have and are serving in the Navy. I think they are some of the finest people in the world. Tell her I welcome her and you are very lucky to have her as your first mate.

My wife was calling all her friends and family here to vote for her. I love her voice. I thought it would have come done to Jessica and Joshua but the girls love PP. We will see them in concert in Sept. in Wilkes-Barre as we did last year.

I believe he was speaking of the non-difference with regard to homo and hetero marriage. That it should be about "who you love", not your gender. Seemed pretty clear. Suggesting he was saying "marriage is easy" seems strange...

Unpopular? The majority supports same sex marriage.

No it isn't simple. It takes a lot to make a marriage work. Love is important of course but it isn't enough by itself. Marriage takes dedication to the shared committment and determination to outlast and outmanuver all of the obstacles that life throws at you. It takes both partners being able and willing to let their own individual wants and needs take a backseat to those of their partner. It means not holding grudges and anticipating one anothers desires.
It's possible to love someone and not like them very much. In marriage you have to do both. And that's hard sometimes. The partners have to give one another space when they need it without feeling distanced or alienated from each other. Marriage is work but when it works right it's worth it.

Biden is a fruit loop..whenever he says anything I disregard it as a by product of his obvious brain disfunction. Look at his mentor Obama..the closet homosexual who insists on acting like the family man of the century heralding the necessity of gay marriage NOW (prior to election he had another opinion), how does anything in this administration equate to simple propositon particularly marriage? A civil contract supplies all the amenities needed to gay couples, gay marriage blessing is not a need it is a want and now a demand. At least Biden says what he says, Obama the double talking tap dancer merely lies, confuses, skirts the issue and bangs the hammer down on the head of America. May they both rot in hell..

Marriages succeed because they are based on the profound principal of love and commitment as described by One whose wisdom outshines our nefarious nabob who, even with all his failings, is partner to the most dangerous man on the planet.

Although this was definitely a planned political move. They need the gay vote. I hope he gets caught on tape saying what he really feels. Civil Unions. Change definition of marriage and any and all number combinations must also be allowed to marry.

Marriage is not simple but it is impossible without love. No one would be happily married if love was not part of the deal. I don't think Joe Biden was saying that marriage is simple and if you read the whole quote he clearly says it's all about love. I think Joe Biden is honest and in his haste to be honest he sometimes misspeaks and it doesn't come out right. But, I'm sure most people got what he meant.

Well, as a former Catholic, I can tell you that most of the young Catholic women I know are on some form of birth control, I have been divorced and re-married, I am in favor of gay marriage, not all go to Mass every Sunday, and they don't support the Church financially. So, while the Church has its rules, 90% of Catholics are breaking them in one way or another. Why they stay, I don't know.

By Biden's simplistic standards, he'd endorse NAMBLA, a pedophile advocacy organization in the US, implying that if a grown man loves young boys, we must support their quest, since that is their answer to "Who do you love?" There's a simple way to see things, or one that reflects critical thinking and awareness of unintended consequences.

I was torn between it not being simple and VP Bumbler as ususal not knowing what he's talking about, but yet trying hard to be tragically hip to at least one subject manner. Maybe after so many things he's screwed the pooch on over the last several this is the only thing they will give him to talk about?

I thought he was a comedian. Almost half the marriage end in this country because people expect too much. Marriages need love, but without trust, compromise, and admitting your mistakes, it's pretty much doomed, whether it's a same sex marriage or not.

You don't have to get married in order to have kids, or to take care of your loved one.
Our new president, François Hollande, did not marry Ségolène Royal (they have four kids), and he has not married our new First Lady.
