Vice President Joe Biden tried to defend his unpopular position on same sex marriage by saying, “Look, I just think that the good news is that as more and more Americans come to understand what this is all about is a simple proposition. Who do you love?"

Simple? I don' t think so. Nearly 41% of first marriages in America end in divorce. Theses divorces likely began with a loving relationship. They all learned that it takes more than love to make a marriage (or any relationship) work.

Hah! Sure, sure, the way science has "proved" evolution. Which is to say, NOT!

    I guess that's what I expected.

I'm not sure why I am bothering, but evolution is fact. The process of how it occurs is theory.

But I'm sure you don't understand me.

And we should not trust scientists. The same people who made flight possible, created the car and tv, and created all the medicine we use.

First, don't confuse origins science with operational science.

Second, do not dignify with the title of "scientist" those who engage in outright and deliberate fraud.

It is really tragic to see some claim to be Roman Catholic like Joe Biden ( and John Kerry) just to get votes on election day then turn around and embrace every single cause or issue that contradicts the moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church he claims to follow.

You have to want to make it work - been with my husband for a quarter of a century now - and I have to be honest with you - I am very happy with my life. I know that he feels the same way - even now after all those years together - we would have done exactly the same thing

Marriage is not simple, but the issue of gay marriage is simple. Biden was right. Gays should be able to marry the one they love.

The issue isn't simple. If the government would get out of the "marriage" business and leave it to the churches, temples, etc., then the problem would be solved. Government should just do civil unions but recognize marriages as a religious substitute for unions.

WOW, hateful much? I work for an agency that takes care of disabled people, and my client and her husband have Down's Syndrome, and they have a beautiful marriage, a lot better than a good majority of "normal" marriages.

Really, Fef. This seems to bother you so much. What is the great concern for interfereing with the private happiness of people who aren't "normal" like you?

When a couple does not consist of a male and a "fertile" female, what terrible thing is going to happen to the world?

I don't think siblings or closely related people should have children, because of concerns about genetic problems. OK, I'll grant you that.

But what else? Really? Other than society's concern for the health of children, how is it even your business? How does any of it affect you AT ALL?

Your changing the subject completely. It's gay marriage not any of those other things. Maybe some day we'll come to those things. Or you should have said maybe stupid people shouldn't marry or poor people shouldn't marry? I think you forgot some more stupid examples. What thinks you? LOL

I stand by my answer. Conservatives were pro slavery. Conservatives were anti women's rights. Conservatives were anti civil rights. Conservatives are anti gay rights. Conservatives are anti religious equality. And by their voting records and bills they back like the Ryan Plan and the bill passed yesterday in the House conservatives are pro rich and anti poor. i don't have to refute anything you say you have to refute the facts which you can't.
  • Racefish Giantfan 2012/05/12 20:32:05

You just sank your credibility by your first sentence. It was the Democrat/Progressives who stood in the way of the civil rights act. Don't they have history books where you live or don't you know how to Google?
  • Giantfan Racefish 2012/05/12 22:57:12
    Giantfan
I said conservatives not party. The southern conservatives were against civil rights the conservatives were against women's rights and now the conservatives are against gay rights. This has nothing to do with parties but conservatives. The democratic party of the past were conservatives and the civil rights movement had them leave the democratic party for the what is now at present the republican party. My credibility is intact you're knowledge is what's lacking.

So you're using a broad stoke of the bigot brush to say you're right? Sorry, but it don't wash.
The present "Conservative" is more likely to understand personal responsibility, and the part individuals play in society. The Progressives on the other hand, are more likely to abrogate their personal responsibility and let the government take care of everything since they're reluctant to soil their hands.
  • Giantfan Racefish 2012/05/15 00:55:40

Yes that is a talking point only fools believe. I'm sorry but it's true, the problems of bigotry in this country were and still are those of conservatives against others. Now check out the states with the highest percentage of people collecting welfare and other government support and they are red states. i checked this out last year after a simular patheticly wrong comment.

I don't think California and New York are "Red States".
  • Giantfan Racefish 2012/05/17 17:32:40
    Giantfan
There is alot more too it than that. Cal. is number one in welfare and no. one in employment also and they rank 21st in people below the poverty level. Now Mississippi on the other hand ranks 27th in welfare but no.1 of people below the poverty level. What these numbers tell you is that Cal. helps more poor people percentage wise then Miss. does. In other words Cal. helps it's people in need where as Miss. doesn't. One gives a helping hand to those in need and the other lets them go hungry. Which do you think is worse? Let me know.

California is broke, or haven't you noticed. It is also a state that shelters illegals. Could there be some possible corelation? Gee, I wonder.
  • Giantfan Racefish 2012/05/18 04:00:26
    Giantfan
Yo! Most states are broke and had it not been for the stimulus they'd be even more broke. They took billions a piece in stimulus money to help pay their bills. Texas is in deep crap and getting worse with more taxcutting. Your state has less to worry about. It's mainly farming and has only 1,842,641 people in it less then the city of LA. Different situation and much different circumstances yet your budget deficit is over $7 billion.
  • Racefish Giantfan 2012/05/21 13:25:17
    Racefish
Yet our unemployment rate is very low, and Texas is picking up people moving from California.
  • Giantfan Racefish 2012/05/21 20:20:29
    Giantfan
Your unemployment rate is very low because you aren't an industrial state it's either farming and ranching or mom and pop small businesses. We are different we are more diversified. Every state is unique. It's impossible to compare Cal. to Neb. they are just too different. And that goes for alot of states. Alaska has oil, fish and lumber where as Ohio doesn't.
  • Racefish Giantfan 2012/05/21 21:25:41
    Racefish
Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Amazing what you don't know about Nebraska. Just because we have no steel mills or heavy industry as such, don't mean we are all farmers. There are a lot of us that have a lot to do with your investments. Try looking up TD Ameritrade or Berkshire Hathaway. Also, there is a huge food industry run from here.
  • Giantfan Racefish 2012/05/22 14:14:41

You don't understand my point. Sorry but if you did understand what I was saying you'd agree with what I had said. Now by comparision Neb. has an economy of $89.8 billion and Pa. has an economy of $570 billion which if we were a seperate country we'd rank 18th largest in the world. We also have a large agriculture section in Pa. ranking 1st in mushroom production, second in apples, third in Xmas trees and layer chickens, 4th in nursery and sod, milk and corn for silage, and grapes grown for grape juices and horse production. And we rank 8th in wine production. We are also home to 50 Fortune 500 companies. We are more deverse and since we have more mom and pop stores, smaller businesses and larger businesses and corporations whan there is a recession we will get hit harder. That's what I'm trying to say.
