Our common religion aside, the man stands up for what he believes in, he gets things done, and has a positive track record with his past political endeavors.

Not our places of worship, just our temples. You couldn't go to Israel and walk into their temple either. Does that make Judaism a cult?

one there is no Temple in Jerusalem only the Mosque of the Rock and that is open to all In the 1960 election many including the Mormons brought up Kennedy's faith Joe K was not a perfect man but he was not a member of the College of Cardinals like George Romney was a member of the Quorum of 12 , you are Secretive and that is the major aspect of a CULT YOu do have a "Secret" handshake don't you? Let's not forget the MAGIC Underwear

No, we don't have a "secret handshake." I shake hands with people of my faith the same as I do everyone else, full hand, nice and firm, none of this dead fish crap.
There are things we do not reveal to the public, yes. That does not mean those things are secret, just that they are sacred. There is a difference. For example, when the majority of people have sex, they don't broadcast it to the world, or flash it all over the internet, but not because what they did was a secret, though in the case of teenagers it might be, but because it's sacred to them.
In the event of a medical emergency, like a heart attack, or stroke, emergency medical personnel, members of our faith or not, are allowed into the temple to aid the person. If we were a cult, as you claim, we would believe that, if the person was meant to live, where they are doing what we believe God wants them to do, God would save them, rather than letting non-believers into the temple. Wouldn't you agree?

    Tell me about it.

    Holy underwear?

    Holey underwear?

    Temple Garments?

Do you wear special underwear that gives you special powers?
  • rcardon Lee 2012/08/03 19:17:44
    rcardon
Regardless of what you call them, no, they don't give me special powers. I'm still a mortal man. If I get hit by a semi, I'm gonna die, just like anyone else, whether I'm wearing them or a pair of boxer shorts.
As for what they are called, that doesn't really matter. The fact of the matter is, I consider them sacred.
  • Lee rcardon 2012/08/03 19:30:38

    Sacred underwear huh?

In other words, you're closer to God when you wear them?

And if you don't wear them? What does God think about that?

  • rcardon leslie 2012/08/06 18:25:05

I do feel closer to God when I wear them. If I don't wear them, for anything that I could wear them to do, I don't feel as close to Him. As for what God things about that, I don't know, when I die, I'll ask Him.

So . . . Do you think that non-Mormons routinely broadcast their sexual experiences to the world?

Is that your opinion of non-Mormons?

And yes, i should hope that you allow medical personnel onto church grounds and into your houses of worship.

Which of our non-Mormon denominations require that sick people must die in church?

Who demands that sick people must die in church instead of receiving the treatment they need? . . . Nobody I'm aware of.

    Please enlighten me.
  • rcardon Lee 2012/08/03 19:25:57
    rcardon
No, I do not thing that people not of my faith, I won't call them "non-mormons," because nobody wants to be a "non", routinely broadcast their sexual experiences. But there are those that do. And just to be fair, I will admit there are some mormons, bad examples of them, that do as well.

I have several friends that are non-mormons, and several that are mormons, but do not live the standards. I'm fine with that. I readily acknowledge mormons do not have the corner on good people. In fact, I've met a lot of people, who are not mormons, who are better than some mormons I've met.

As for which churches let sick people die, I do not want to call out any, as I do not want to unintentionally offend someone or turn someone away from a religion that could make them better, but there are those out there that, regardless of the situation would refuse blood transfusions, just for example. I will allow you to do your own research on the different religions and their beliefs. But make sure it's real research, not just listening to what other people say they've heard about certain religions.
If you want to find out about a religion, find a member of it and actually talk to them, ask them questions. Be inquisitive, not judgmental.

You're displaying your misinformed "intellect", again.
It's not the "Mosque of the Rock'. It's called the "DOME of the Rock".
Since 1967, non-Muslims have been permitted LIMITED access. However, non-Muslims are NOT permitted to pray on the Temple Mount, or carry any form of religious artifact, or anything with Hebrew letters. (The Israeli police help enforce this, by the way.)
As for George Romney, WHICH one are you referring to?
    M. George Romney, who was an apostle and a member of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), and the son of George S. Romney?
Or, George W. Romney, the father of Mitt Romney, and cousin to M. George Romney?
You really need to do some THINKING before you make inane comments directed against those you may not agree with.

"ot the skinny dippers from the House of Reps One Dan Quayles kid"

    That made absolutely no sense.
Next time, before you reply, wipe the liberal-induced frenzied drool off of your mouth (and your keyboard), take a moment to collect your thoughts, and then, if at all possible, try to make a conscious effort to type something that actually has some coherence to it.
    Okay?

...not that anyone is really expecting you to be able to DO that, but, in the event that you ever do...
    Just sayin'...
