Virgin wants to send you to space. Well, that is, if you have enough frequent flier miles. That’s right, the person who flew the most on Virgin Airlines will win a ride to space courtesy of Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic.

According to TechCrunch, "Starting now through August 7, 2013, the contest will allow the most frequent flier to take a trip on Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo, a carbon composite commercial space craft."

TECHCRUNCH.COM reports:
Virgin is one of my favorite airlines to fly on — it's kind of like the airline of the future, with interactive displays in every head rest, cool lighting, an animated safety video, and there's almost always WiFi on board.

But Virgin is looking to be even more futuristic, promising the customer with the most miles at the end of the year a chance to upgrade to Galactic status.

I just have the biggest fear of space. It is terrifying because I can't stoping thinking about if you were lost in space, drifting alone where you will never ever be found until your oxygen runs out. It is sheer terror to me.

No. No interest whatsoever. Although I do think it's appropriate that the airline is named "Virgin" in honor of all the space geeks who wet themselves with excitement over their chance to act like Capt. Kirk.

Well, "Virgin" is the company and it had nothing to do with space-flight.
As for the geeks, only half get wet when you mention Capt. Kirk.
The other half gets wet when you mention Obi-one-Kenobi.
