I think they should load some other holy books on there and maybe a few nonreligious ones as well. Yeah you know what I'm talking about. The day "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins is alongside the bible in a hotel will be the happiest of my life.

There not discriminating, it is simply a traditition that was started long before other religions began to emirege in the western world. It began with a dyings man wish that a bible would be placed in the room of every hotel room and left the money which began the foundation. It's not the Hotels who put the books there.

Those religions had been in the western world for ages before the inane tradition had started. Also I never said they were discriminating. I just believe that in this age of "religious freedom" they should at least let the other religions of the world put their book in hotel rooms as well, or have no religious texts in the room at all.

No one is stopping other religions from placing their materials in hotels. The others just aren't providing them.

It isn't that anypony is stopping them. It is just that somehow the gideons have oodles of cash to just give bibles away for free. If somepony wants to start given the Bagavad Gita or Torah away for free, it wouldn't be an issue.

You don't have to read it. The bible is still a "best seller" even if YOU don't read it.

It is a sign of the times, the obummer unaffordable nazi-heathuncaring has a rule in it to inject serfs and subjects not citizens anymore will be required to take the radio frequency idenity chip, and if the masses would put 2 and 2 together, and look at what the book of Revelations (in the BIBLE) It tells of the mark of the beast, which is on the forehead or the right hand, Israel became a nation in 1948, Revelations chapter 12 verse 1 happened Sept. 29, 2011 and there is plenty other prophecies that have already happened so make sure as GOD said, "those who do not believe in my Son (JESUS, YESHUA) will be blinded by the evil one!"

It's ok to transition into the digital age - clinging to archaic forms of existence merely to uphold tradition is not necessary. Move with the times people, move with the times!
...I submit that we remove bibles from hotel nightstands altogether - or, at the very least, also put a copy of the Torah (which is the Old Testament?), the Qur'an, the Sutras, and the Bhagavad Gita to include everyone!

I wish there were different ways the choices were stated because what I really mean is that as long as it's the Word of God I don't think the medium matters.

Suprisingly the Bible is the most stolen book internationally every year and it's the second most stolen object (behind food) every year worldwide as well.. It's always suprising some of the stuff that people steal.

Not just because I want to respect the bible and I'm a christian, but I don't think historical books should be turned from pages of wonder and great historic moments to LED screens. It would be like turning James Audubons birds of america into a pop up book, just wrong to me, you kind of take the seriousness out of it.

if it was placed by Gideons, the group that typically does this in the US, supplying hotels, motels with bibles for free...I would say the print version....If someone wants to take the print version bible...as it is meant to be taken by someone who desires to use it...not sure that would be the intent with a Kindle.
