UGG Australia Unveils Bridal Boots: Gross or Great?

Here comes the bride ... and she's wearing boots. UGGs, to be specific. UGG Australia has unveiled I Do! boots, featuring a range of sure-to-make-your feet-sweaty UGGs and guaranteed to make the bride look like she stepped out in the middle of a blizzard. But hey, if that's your thing...

The collection comes in three styles: Sparkles I Do!, a classic UGG covered in white iridescent sequins (bottom left, $225); Bailey I Do!, a suede pair with a diamanté button (bottom right, $190); and Fluff Flip Flop I Do!, a sheepskin slipper ($80).

UGG claims the line "provides luxury bridal comfort as brides and their bridal parties pamper themselves before and after the wedding." In the press release, they are described as follows: “Perfect as bridal party gifts, for rehearsal dinners, receptions, spa days and post-wedding festivities."

Now, if you are indeed getting married in the middle of a blizzard, these boots could be kind of cute. And you'll even have your "something blue." But Jezebel calls them "the single biggest threat to traditional marriage that currently exists." Do you agree?

What's wrong with boots? I have more of a problem with white being the color than boots.

Are you serious? If your wedding day isn't the one day to wear a gorgeous pair of fancy shoes, I don't know what is. The bride can wear these before or after the wedding but definitely not during.

being a bride doesn't mean that you have to have broken feet by the end of the night.
Most dresses are floor length and wouldn't show the shoes anyway.
i've seen amazing tennis shoes all bedazzled under a wedding dress and why wouldn't those be just as awesome... especially for a winter wedding!!!

i think people are jumping ahead of themselves and picturing that this item was designed to walk down the isle. it says above "provides luxury bridal comfort as brides and their bridal parties pamper themselves before and after the wedding."
i would love a pair! i see ugg boots that go a lot higher in price so they seem like a nice price to me :) not that i have that much spare right now.

I am sure these are intended to to worn before the wedding and after, when your feet are killing....I think it is a cute idea, and I know these things are super cozy....I have several pair of UGGs and really love them....Doubt any bride is wearing these with her dress...
but if she is, who cares....!!!!

That, and they wear them in a mish mash laundry day nothing matches manner. People who like these have much to learn about style. I rock vintage boots, shoes and haircuts. I also wear current shoes and suits. These things remind me of childrens snow boots that someone converted into an adults boot simply by increasing the size. And the result? A boot that cost 8 times as much as it is ugly, that results in highly distasteful pairings (such as sweat shorts with patterned long john top with Ugg on the feet.... in SUMMER!) and people stress that looking good isn't important as long as they are comfortable. Well, I'm not snooty, I just want to be seen with people who appear to be able to dress themselves when in public.
