UGG Australia Unveils Bridal Boots: Gross or Great?

Here comes the bride ... and she's wearing boots. UGGs, to be specific. UGG Australia has unveiled I Do! boots, featuring a range of sure-to-make-your feet-sweaty UGGs and guaranteed to make the bride look like she stepped out in the middle of a blizzard. But hey, if that's your thing...

uggs

The collection comes in three styles: Sparkles I Do!, a classic UGG covered in white iridescent sequins (bottom left, $225); Bailey I Do!, a suede pair with a diamanté button (bottom right, $190); and Fluff Flip Flop I Do!, a sheepskin slipper ($80).

UGG claims the line "provides luxury bridal comfort as brides and their bridal parties pamper themselves before and after the wedding." In the press release, they are described as follows: “Perfect as bridal party gifts, for rehearsal dinners, receptions, spa days and post-wedding festivities."

Now, if you are indeed getting married in the middle of a blizzard, these boots could be kind of cute. And you'll even have your "something blue." But Jezebel calls them "the single biggest threat to traditional marriage that currently exists." Do you agree?

What's wrong with boots? I have more of a problem with white being the color than boots. brides in black wedding dress

I don't see what's so ugly about uggs to begin with. What's this obsession women and the gays have with shoes? It's irrational.

I thought it was ridiculous at first but for those who may have foot problems or do not like wearing heels it's a nice option.

I used to think they were ugly but I have grown to like them. They look comfy and I also find it cute. Crocs however, don't think I'll ever get into them.

Seriously, I love my UGG's best shoes for the winter ever. So warm and toasty and cute.

But if I got married in the winter I'd totally wear these. You know how cold it is in Nebraska? Yeah worth it.

Wear whatever you want to your wedding, but don't expect me to rave about it. Weddings are supposed to be beautiful and glamorous unless you're having a thug themed wedding, then go right ahead. I won't be coming.

It would ruin an expensive wedding dress. No man wants to see his beautiful bride all undone by some fashion foushee boots. For the honeymoon sure, but not the wedding day!

I do not even like wearing boots in the winter let alone at a wedding.

OK, picture this,, Seen a lady at the local supermarket with long winter boots, tee shirt and shorts on today and the weather was in the high 80's.

It is just not a good look to me : )

I understand if they're just wedding gifts or something to wear to the spa or something like that. However, they cannot and will not look good in a formal event, no matter how sparkly they are. But if you want to wear them to your wedding, be my guest!

Personally I think uggs should never be worn outside the house. If these weren't so expensive I'd have them for slippers, but definitely not for my wedding. Although the jandal ones might be good for before, I guess.

Each to his own, I suppose. But definitely not the feminine, graceful picture she's going to be looking at 25 years down the road. Let's see how much she likes the idea then! "She" being "the" bride, of course.

I'd like to see those catch on. They're far more comfortable. My wife told me that the one sour note at our wedding was her having to parade down the aisle in what she called "those torture devices."
