i wouldnt exactly hug a guy all the time, but im not insecure about it and i would. like i would do it during a funeral or wedding, if someone helped me out big time on something, or if i was in some competition like a fight or something, i would as a way of saying good job.

WHERE IS THE UNDECIDED OPTION? That stupid mentality that "boys don't cry" is emerging the whole world. Everyone has the right to hug anyone else. Guys can have emotions, they do cry and can hug someone. But it's preferable that men perform those hugs with family guys or close friends... This masculine and childish mentality should stop..

Why? Don't you think it's a bit judgemental and a little arrogant of you to say that masculinity is a bad thing. Nature made guys a certain way and while there is nothing wrong with a guy wanting to be more feminine, there's alsonothing wrong with being in touch with our masculinity and embracing it.

Dude. The first thing my bro did when he came home was hug me. Nothing wrong with it, it's just our way of saying we care. I mean, I don't really like hugs... not unless I REALLY like the person as a friend/relative.

This question is so silly to me.I think men should hug anyone they want to hug and if it's another man, so what? And on the other hand, if a man doesn't want to hug another man than he shouldn't. It's all depends on the man.

None. Hug whoever you want. I swear, our culture just makes natural things awkward for no bloody reason! In my country, men kiss each other when saying hello and it doesn't make them gay or not masculine in any way.

Limited question, at a couple churches (& a mosque) I attend we have getting hugs at the start of service but only if folks don't mind such proximity, of course. At the mosque, men only.

Growing up most of my life in the SOUTH, hugging is just what THEY DO....men, women, and children, family or not. Took some getting use to for me and my husband but after awhile it became rather NATURAL. HUGS TO ALL!

I don't find hugs to be awkward and I don't think guys should either. If they want to hug someone that's an acquaintance, a friend, a family member...whomever, they should feel like they can, not like it's awkward or taboo.
