Forget the last minute running around for mom and dad. Toys “R” Us is launching its first-ever free reservation service that lets parents reserve --with a 20 percent down payment, mind you -- the hottest toys of the holiday season.
“We want customers to get what they want,” Toys “R” Us CEO Jerry Storch said when announcing the new service at an event previewing the upcoming holiday shopping season. Do our kids really need the hottest toys of the season? Or do you think we're spoiling our kids a little too much?

God forbid your kid doesn’t get his favorite toy at Christmastime!

I believe I'll have to stop buying at Toys "R" Us.
Half of my generation has unrealistic expectations of free stuff being just handed to them. They want to get the best jobs right out of college, even if their degree was in something fairly useless in the job market, like liberal arts. They want the best jobs, the highest pay, and the best benefits, without having to put forth all of the time and effort that it actually takes to get these things. Even worse are the people who think that simply being alive should award them free food, healthcare, shelter, clothes, and all of the newest gadgets. I know so many people who are on SSI for disabilities that they faked, who do nothing but complain because, even though their free income pays for their basic necessities, they can't afford all the fancy crap that people who work 40 hours a week can afford.
Being spoiled as kids with toys and stuff, and not having to do much, if anything, to earn them, is what created these adults.
The toy reservation service is a good idea and smart business
Luckily some parents still understand. Yay for stay-at-home mums and part-time working parents.
