Town Designates Easy Parking Spots for Women: Is It Sexist or Sweet?

The German town of Triberg is now designating parking spots for men and women. The parking spots assigned to women are much easier to maneuver compared to the men's, less convenient designated spots. The mayor of Triberg went on to state, "As a rule, men are a little better at such challenges.”

Nonetheless, several studies find that women are indeed better parkers than men. For a British study that came out this year, researchers monitored 2,500 drivers in 700 parking lots in Britain for one month. While women took longer to park, they were more likely to leave their cars in the middle of the spot. Women proved to be better at finding places and more accurate in lining up the car before backing in. Also, they were more likely to use parking strategies recommended by driving instructors.

It sounds more like an insult to women, than being sweet.
To me, a male, it screaming "Women are such bad drivers that we gave them specific idiot proof, I mean woman proof, parking spots."

If women can get easy parking spots just because they have vaginas then I want easy parking spots because I have a penis, though I doubt anyone will vote for that.

Every "privilege" that assists, aids, or protects a group just screams that the group is inferior to everyone who did not need the privilege. This is yet another reason why the double standard, that says women are weak, pathetic, fragile, little victims in need of saving, will never go away.

This kind of reminds me the guys who were saying good things about spectacular drumming, and spectacular guitar solo from these two women. I was seeing complements about the art, yes, but also talking about their beauty. I just stuck to the art they presented me: They have a future. This does happen a whole lot. But, I believe this comic kind of makes a gross generalization.

This is being presented much more serious than it was intended.

"Now, (Mayor Gallus) Strobel, whose town boasts the world’s largest cuckoo clock, is clearly having a little fun, shamelessly acknowledging that the town’s “challenge to political correctness” is a publicity stunt. “It should be also an input of humour for our society,” he said. “And, of course, a tourist city depends on being famous. Now we have got so many reactions from all over the world which we never thought we’d get.”"

Absolutely it is sexist. If women truly want equality, then they need to stop asking (and accepting) special favor.

Not all women are like that. In fact, I'd say most aren't.

Also, the picture on the right is ridiculous. Obviously a man should get paid more if they're more productive - such as when they are required to lift/move heavy objects frequently -, but how many women do you see working in construction?

Actually, I've seen quite few women working in fields requiring "physical performance" who thought they should get "equal pay" for a reduced workload. To be fair, I've also seen smaller/weaker men who thought the same way.

I suppose it must be difficult to monitor each and everyone's capabilities - assuming everyone is working their best and not slacking off at all. Which you can't, of course. I am glad it isn't my responsibility to decide just what is best to do in this instance because I don't know.

Most women I know don't expect a guy to pay though or want it. It's usually the man that offers, it makes him feel good about himself.

That's a dumb comic. If a woman can't lift the required amount than she should not be hired for the job. I wanted to apply for a summer job that required lifting 80 pounds almost over the head. I decided not to apply, because I knew that I couldn't do it. If a workplace hires people for the same position they should be paid the same (it's both legal and just), it's their fault if they hire someone who can not do the job properly (they should have checked before hand).

Also, I think that the person who asks the other person on the date should pay- or they should switch off- you pay, I pay each time.

I don't think you even know what sexism is. It's not funny- it's only funny if you're a clueless man.
