The German town of Triberg is now designating parking spots for men and women. The parking spots assigned to women are much easier to maneuver compared to the men's, less convenient designated spots. The mayor of Triberg went on to state, "As a rule, men are a little better at such challenges.”
Nonetheless, several studies find that women are indeed better parkers than men. For a British study that came out this year, researchers monitored 2,500 drivers in 700 parking lots in Britain for one month. While women took longer to park, they were more likely to leave their cars in the middle of the spot. Women proved to be better at finding places and more accurate in lining up the car before backing in. Also, they were more likely to use parking strategies recommended by driving instructors.

oh right i forgot equal right idiots are never about equal rights, they are always about getting more rights for themselves then others!
What kind of person, would consider it "sexist" to *PROTECT* women, as these parking spots are because of visual and lighting?
Yeah, I know "What Kind", the same kind of person that *DOESN'T* wants women to carry guns for their own protection, leaving them at the mercy of criminals.
To me, it's only fair to have "easy" parking spots for:
-People with disabilities
and
-adults with babies or toddlers
:)

Yes, I read the article. Who gives a damn what the mayor says? It doesn't really matter what the reasoning behind the matter is, the point is that it will do good. I've hit a whole bunch of other cars with my door when it;s windy; wider parking spaces will make it less likely for that to happen. There's more room to get prams out of the car. And it generally just makes parking that little bit easier.
The problem is that we've been brought up in a society that looks down on everything, has too much health and safety for it's own good and considers everything to be prejudiced, sexist, racist, homophobic or some other form of bullying. Our generation has been molly-coddled and taught that if we don't like something that's been said we can label it as bullying. It's a harmless act that will in some way bring about some good. Don't get your knickers in a twist; the suffragette movement was 100 years ago. We have equal rights and we're not treated differently.
If you don't want to be upset or offended by things like this, just don't take them offensively. It's not a big deal, it's not a violation of rights and it's not even really sexist.
The mayor of Triberg went on to state, "As a rule, men are a little better at such challenges.”
How is that CHIVALROUS? He didn't say, "oh I want to do something nice for a lady". He pretty much said women aren't as good at parking as men. He's saying they're are inferior to men in that area, which isn't true. So it is, by definition, chauvinism.
Easier parking spaces should only be given out to the ones who need it: the handicapped and the elderly.
