I know some whites and I know some white-trash. I know some blacks and I know some ni**ers. What's the problem. Ever heard of freedom of speech people.

Nope. I don't care who you are. If you are white it's racist and if you are black it is racist, simple as that. If you are white you can get called for hate speech. If you are black you are showing that you are racist against whites and it is hate speech. Good for one it is good for all. Not good for one not good for anyone.

There is a double standard but I have respect to never use the N word under any circumstances.

Martin Luther King must have rolled over in his grave. If MLK were alive today a can picture him saying " why do you want to undo all the things I dedicated my whole life to, hell even did to accomplish".

Born in Massachusetts, I and my family have always found that word to be disrespectful
so early on, it was stricken from my vocabulary.

It's funny how over time things change. In the 20s and 30s Negro was not considered slang but respect, in the 50s and 60s it could be taken either way, good or bad. Now if was used by a white person it racist, but a black man can say it all day long and that’s OK. We have a double standard today.

Why not? It's given air time through hip hop music, and it seems to be an acceptable salutation.

Not in my sphere. Anyone other than a progressive Democrat will be hounded, demonized, forced to resign ANY public office, etc until the cows come home.

Cracker, honkey and other non-complimentary terms for white folks are also used freely by members of the brown population with no ill effects.

This is what diversity and overt racial bias has done for all of us, no matter the political stripe. Seems the Clintons, especially Shrillary, have they're own terms for the Jewish citizens as well, and gets away with it.

It is an ugly word. Nobody, regardless of their own particular ethnic origins, should ever use it. And it is in poor taste for someone to say, "Well, he's black, he can say it to another black man," or some such nonsense. Bad language is bad language; bad manners are bad manners. Neither should be tolerated in today's society. I am proud to say I was raised in a family in which that word was never used, period. (We were active military. We were raised with higher standards than civilians and it shows.)

It doesn't matter who uses it, no it ain't right ! NOBODY SHOULD BE USING IT, EVER !!! The only way it will ever go away is if it becomes bad for ANYBODY to use it. Doesn't matter what color their skin is.

I don't know about anybody else, but I can go days, or even weeks, without even thinking of the 'n-word' and then someone has to say: "he/she used the 'n-word'" and guess what word immediately comes to mind?

I would like to send a rave to the young lady in the video.

As a rule of thumb, OH HELL NO! However, it depends on the context. Should not to ever be used as a racial slur or accusation directed toward someone.

Blacks use that word all the time as well as words like cracker and honky. When blacks call whites names it seams to be alright with most people but if a white calls a black a name, then that white person is called a bigot and a racist. Double standard. We all know that whites are held to a higher standard than blacks, they always have been. And that is as it should be. Blacks need all the help that they can get. Look at affirmative action. Even Obama benefited from affirmative action. He admitted it.

I like this girl. Back in 1975 when I was on annual tour with the reserves in Charleston SC a group of us went to a bar for a drink. We sat there for a while and did not get served and when we asked for service we were told we would not be served because a couple in our group was black. Needless to say we all got up and left. I was in my 20's at the time and had never seen this happen up close. I had attended school with blacks since 5th grade and never thought anything about it. When the first black family moved in across the street from our house I babysat their kids. Why does everything have to be turned to racism? Martin Luther King said he had a dream of the day when people would be judged on their character not the color of their skin. If you want to blame me for disliking Obama than do it because I disagree with him and his ideas not because his skin is a different color. He could be green or purple and I still would not like his view point.

We live in a free country. You can be as vulgar as you want.

In terms of your acceptance of mean-spirited talk (as normal behavior), it speaks to who you are as a person (and your believe system).

The definition of security in a person's life is not about the acceptance of mean-spirited language - big disconnect in word usage.
