Top Ten Reasons why Gay marriage should be Allowed in All 50 States

☥☽✪☾DAW ☽✪☾ 2012/08/10 13:37:42

‎1 .not everyone believes in your God or the Bible

2. not everyone believs in your Version of God or your Version of the Bible
3. Treaty of Tripoli The Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense founded on the Christian religion Signed by President John Adams and Congress.

united america founded christian religion signed president john adams congress

4.Congress shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
freedom speech press people peaceably assemble petition government redress grievances
5.As we Here in America have Freedom of Religion we also have Freedom From Religion this means People can not Force thier religious Rules or on another person so it does not matter, What the Bible or Koran or Torah says We are not a Theocracy
We are a Secular country based on Laws

So any attempt to use Religion as a way to say no to Same Sex Marriage is Null and VOID for we have Freedom of and From Religion one persons religious Views are not the same as anothers Religious views

null void freedom religion persons religious views anothers religious views

6.the parts of the bible that are against homosexuality are laws Created for the Hebrews only not anyone else but the Hebrews old testament laws for the hebrews at the time in that time period of history those laws made sense they do not make sense or apply today
created hebrews hebrews testament laws hebrews period history laws apply
7.new testament bible laws are for the Christians only not the entire human race

‎8.all Men have equality rights
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are CREATED equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
- Declaration of Independence
NOW it does not Say Straight men it does not say White men it says ALL MEN Straight , Gay , Bi etc Have Equal Rights
happiness declaration independence straight white straight gay bi equal rights
We are Not a Country based on a Judeo Christian belief

Note also that the Declaration says, "their Creator," not "our Creator." This implies that everyone has a unique creator instead of a universal "our" creator (A Judeo-christian god). "Their Creator" could mean several things. It could mean a personal pagan god (as often seen in pagan societies who's members worship their own personal god). It could mean their parents, who provided them with their life, rights, and their ability to achieve happiness. It could also mean whatever natural or physical laws created them. "Their Creator" implies everything but a Judeo-christian god.
Nowhere else in the Declaration (or any other founding document) do we find mention of gods or creators. The entire bases of connecting god with the U.S. government rests entirely on only three words, "Nature's God" and "Creator." Nothing more

10. People have been Getting married before your Religion Existed you did not create Marriage the origins of the word marriage Comes from the word Maier which means Bonding social unions under law
Marriage (or wedlock) is a social union or legal contract between people may also be called matrimony. People marry for many reasons, including one or more of the following: legal, social, libidinal, emotional, economic, spiritual, and religious. These might include arranged marriages, family obligations, the legal establishment of a nuclear family unit, the legal protection of children and public declaration of commitment
Marriage, as we know it in our Western civilization today, has a long history with roots in several very different ancient cultures, of which the Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian, Hebrew, and Germanic are the most important..

Because you did not Create marriage and All marriage is a civil union under law you can not Define it

germanic important nbsp create marriage marriage civil union law define

The Religious zealots love to quote only the passages from the Bible that support their points of view! They ignore the rest, like 'love thy neighbor as thyself', or 'thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor'. Or, my personal favorite, "It will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." We are all equal.....period. The zealots have to have someone to hate as it's the only way they can feel 'superior'

I know a couple of gay people who were treated hideously by their loved one's families. Since families insist on being so evil, laws are needed to prevent that.

Odd, if those so called Christians had made the slightest effort to behave like real Christians the effort to legalize gay marriage Never Would Have Come Up.

Legalize gay marriage to save Christians from becoming horribly evil and nasty!

TOLERANCE is a two way word which means I need to be as much as you need to be to each other if we do not agree with each others views or practices. Funny how that word is spread out into nearly every religious doctrine and books.

Yet almost all fail to practice or adhere to it if they are true to their faiths.

DAW, Great write up! You lay the whole argument out very logically, quoting the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and Founding Fathers. I'm thinking that most of the holy rollers out there won't or can't understand because the are blinded by their own hatred and prejudice fueled by their own interpretation of the bible. I wish there was something that could shake them up enough to break the biblical hold on them. But, this is really a great explanation....if only they'd read it and understand.

People can take other opinions, but the root of homosexual bigotry is lack of education and unwillingness to access diversity on this planet.

Homosexual behavior is part of all species on this planet and it is normal and natural in nature. It is time for everyone to start educating themselves and understand that all individuals on this earth are equal and sexuality is only one part of a person.

I simply find it unacceptable to discriminate and hate deny human rights to any person for sexual reasons. If we did, every bedroom in the country would have to be explored.

No people can be prejudice and bigoted without the help of a religion. I could not get married in the state of California in 1968 to my Hispanic fiance because of bias and bigotry that the court eventually tossed out. I have been married 42 years to the same wonderful lady and gee our race didn't matter.

The AZ GOP wanted to take his name off of "The Goldwater Institute" when he changed his position on gays in the military.     And the number one reason the federal government has no business touching it;

    Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

That would be true if the federal government was not already involved in it. There are over 1.200 federal benefits conferred on marriage. Either remove them for everyone (unlikely) or grant equal access to gay people.

The truth is that they are not. There are over 1200 laws in the USA that are made specifically for heterosexual couples only. That is NOT equality.
