Our family are convertible people. My husband had one when we married many years ago. Our son's first car was an MG convertible, he now has a corvette convertible. Yes my husband and I still drive a convertible, We love convertibles at any age,

Is there such a thing as a "top-up convertible?" I mean, isn't that just a car with a canvas top? It's only awesome when you can put it down.

There was a man near where I went to college who was claustrophobic. Every day, no matter the weather, he drove down the road in his convert with the top down. Earmuffs, heavy gloves, an umbrella-gizmo to fit over his head. He was quite a sight.

I'm a dude with long hair. I can't see a damn thing if I'm riding in a convertible. I'll stick with a roof or a full on motorcycle, thank you.

Might be good for some, but not for me. Reminds me of when I used to drive the tractor on the farm and wish for a top on it.

But also very impractical. Still, I'm a very hot person, and cannot stand air conditioning, if I could take the top down on my car, I'd LOVE it :D

Drove this one (not really this one) across Nebraska all the way at 100 mph with a 40 mph crosswind. I only flipped twice. Nah... she was a tank, great for long highway drives. Oh that trip was in the early 70's before they had cop out there.

They're impractical. Just ask anyone whos ever flipped one. Also, I'd like a hard solid smooth shinny roof that isn't made of construction paper please.

Simply awesome of course. We always added a roll bar and seat belts, but that's because we did so much off road it was already a habit.

Before 1965 there were no seat belts in cars at all, and the chest belt/3 point seat belt not required untill 1974, and Nixon should get the credit for it (he was well hated for it then for making automakers put them in) and all the other changes that made cars so much safer today resulted from Nixon's initiatives.

The man was hated because he did so much good. People are really strange.

Truth is the upper class hated him - their llives were fine, and they Did Not want to have any profits cut by making things safer for stupid wage workers. Since they own all means of communication,.....

Too much risk of head injury for my taste. But then again, that can be mitigated with some kind of bar or frame.

If you can ever arrange it, you should visit us in central California when things get dull some winter.

Where I live is wonderful, but its a sort of working class paradise. It's known to be a little rough. We have derelicts, gangs, outlaw bikers and homeless nomads adding their touches of color.

Just North is Santa Barbara. From Santa Barbara to Monterrey is a pure delight.
You would love it. And everybody is welcoming and friendly.

I would love to visit your country, but am not wealthy in cash. The next best is meeting the wonderful people who travel to visit us.

I would love to say that being in a convertible would be awesome but I've got a mane of hair that would smother me and the people next to me no matter how tightly I tried to tie it down! LOL
They are pretty awesome though for some people in some weather.
