Owned Grand Cherokee 4wd, 2 Subarus and 1 Volvo. Sold Volvo 850 , and bought that Jeep. Subarus I plan to keep for long haul. They just don't break. Subaru must have had a good Electrical Engineer that designed the wires, because my Jeep has sensor issues since I owned it. Nothing mechanical, just stupid electrical things. Jeep is more capable offroad, but Subaru is better on highways. Neither Subaru nor Jeep is as good on the road as that Volvo. Good car, but not cheap to own. Sold it.

Actually we have had several of them. We had a Sable that we had hauled away about 2 years ago. It was hauled away because it was beginning to fall apart inside and we just couldn't stand it anymore. When they heard it had 214,000 miles on it they sent out one guy with a flatbed to take it away. But he decided to try it anyway and it started like always. It was probably auctioned after the insides were overhauled.

Our current car, a Mitsubishi Gallant has 118,000 on it and is purring along with no problems. We've had Chevies, Pontiacs and a VW - all gave us over 100,000 miles with few problems to speak of. My husband says the secret is regular oil changes at least every 5,000miles. I don't argue. I'm just glad they run when I put the key in. And yes, our cars do last forever.

I had a F150 but sold it to buy a GMC. They are both good trucks. I have had the GMC seven years now and would sell it to buy another new truck if I could find a deal. The only cars I like are Mustangs and Corvettes but not for everyday use. I don't believe there is an oil shortage. The only shortage we have is a shortage of brains and balls in Washington.

And a Chevy Blazer that I gave to my son at 235,000, ran strong, and a 72" Chevy Malibu that I sold at 225,000 and was still a beast. Been others, two more Honda Accords, one with 305,000 (it ran probably until 500-600 K with another motor and the second at 285,000 that our son-in-law is still driving. Our new 2006 Accord has 80,000 at this time.

I love my Swedish cars! I have had two Saabs and love them dearly. Great pick up and turbo fun to drive and I also (strangely I guess to most) prefer to drive a standard transmission.

Bought an 88 LeSabre in 2001 and drove it through 2007. Decided not to fix a fixable issue since the car was so God-awful ugly. But I've had great luck with old Buicks.

1993, F150 with 198,753 miles so far. I had the tranny rebuilt about 6 years ago, and that's the only major expense I've had.

lol, you don't know how I drive...hehe...I'm all gas and brakes. 10 years of that before it needed work. I have done nothing else to it but oil and brakes. Paid $13,500 for it with the long bed so it works out to about 10 cents a mile so far, I count that as pretty good, but we all have our own standards.

Actually not quite. Her deceased granpa retired as a design engineer from GM and the whole family has never driven anything but Chevys till all this nonsense. Grandmas pension has\been halved 3 times and now is gone I suppose. They're all unhappy. She just the first to jump ship.
