Tomorrow is Father's Day.... If you have an awesome Dad, please stop in and tell us about him . It don't matter if he passed on because they keep their spot forever.

I know that I had one and I miss him everyday. He was my mentor, confidant ,Pastor,
friend and Dad all wrapped up in one. This man raised 9 kids and half the neighborhood, everybody loved him.. He worked his tail off to support his kids and would give away his last dime to somebody in need. One of the funny things that he use to say....I'll quote him.. If I ever put a pair of pants on that had 5.00 in them,,,I was in somebody else's pants.
The greatest gift I ever had came from God; I call him Dad!

Barefoot Peace and Love∞ijm... 2012/06/16 20:08:15Happy Father's Day Dad!+8Happy Fathers Day to my precious Dad....... thank God for leaving him here alittle while longer with us...... ;)!!

Its been 5 years since my Dad past away. My Mom got sick 3 years after he died and now they're both together again. My parents weren't perfect, but they did the best they could with what they knew and what they had, and God Knows in His Heart, they sure worked hard and long for everything. They taught us to do the same. My Daddy overcame so much early in life and it wasn't long after he and Momma got married.... he had his own company. He would correct me in a heartbeat by my saying he "overcame so much" ....... I know him, and he would let me know real quick, that he didn't "overcome" anything .....He just DID !!! .... He did what had to be done. His daddy died when he was 14. My dad was the youngest of 8. Two of his older brohers made fun of him for cleaning the house for his Mama and doing laundry and other things that needed to be done around the house because his Mama, my Grandmother worked long hot hours in a sewing factory as a Seamstress. My grandfather, whom I never met was not the hardest working...

Two of his older brohers made fun of him for cleaning the house for his Mama and doing laundry and other things that needed to be done around the house because his Mama, my Grandmother worked long hot hours in a sewing factory as a Seamstress. My grandfather, whom I never met was not the hardest working man and was not the most patient man in the world either. Never heard many good things about him or his side of the family. After my grandfather died suddenly of a heart attack.... while the family was at the funeral home for the visitation... my grandfathers sister left early with her husband. On the way home from the funeral home... my daddy, grandmother, aunts and uncles (you can find their photo in my media) ...saw smoke. It was their home. It had been burned to the ground. Things were stolen before it was lit up, because these things were seen later in my grandfather's sister's house. My daddy was young... but he quit school in the 9th grade and went to work immediatly to help his mother....he continued cleaning, cooking, doing the clothes and doing what he could to clear the land and keep it going by milking the cows etc. Later, he joined the Army. When he got out he went back to work and eventually met and married my mother. Soon after my brother was born after me... He started his own sucessful Plumbing Company. Both of the same 2 brothers where also in the Plumbing business, but they werent as sucessful. They tried to sabotage his business and spread rumors around town trying to ruin my father's business. Even after their daddy's sudden death, those 2 uncles of mine tried to pound it my daddy's head, that he'd never amount to nothin' !! I watched my strong, steadfast, determined, loving father build a life with our mother and he created a successful business from the ground up and they raised us to do right by others. They raised us to be self sufficient, independent, providers. They taught the value of a dollar and to conserve water, energy and take care of the world God blessed us with. We were taught conservation in everything. We didn't get to sit around and watch t.v. We worked! It made us enjoy our down time a lot more. My Daddy was strict but he was fair. All I know is.... I'm Very Proud of him! The memories of my parents and ALL they taught us and ALL that they were, and still are..... fills my heart up so! :* ) ...Since they've both past away and at such young ages.... I can't talk about one without including the other.
But I sure couldn't be prouder of my Dad! He is missed every single day. How I miss talking with, and hanging out with my parents....
They sure were fun to be around, and they sure made an imprint on so many hearts.
And they'll never ever be forgotten. I feel them with me so much of the time. ♥ ♥ :* )
So todays your day. Happy fathers Day.
THIS SONG IS EVERYTHING THAT HE WAS TO ME!
hugs to you
THANK YOU---I AM ALSO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS---I MUST SAY WE BOTH WERE TRULY BLESSED HAVING THESE WONDERFUL MEN AS OUR DAD'S!
He may be a quiet guy, but I love my daddy <3
I miss your voice....
Your voice was strength and laughter, prayer and song.
I miss your smile.....
Your smile was sunshine and warmth, playfulness and teasing.
I miss your passions....
Your passions were Momma and family, God and country.
I miss your wisdom....
Your wisdom was profound and enlightening, honorable and guiding.
I miss your hugs....
Your hugs were safety and security, all-encompasing love.
But I don't miss your love...
Your love is always with me, in my heart and my soul.
I miss you Daddy and always will.
My dad went to work at a local college as a janitor at night and to business courses during the day. He got a BA. And went into the Marines as a Sgt. during WWII. He got Master Gunney and was told he could be an officer. He wanted to stay an enlisted man to fight for our country. I can't put all he did here. But he was a hero. And he also fought in Korea. My dad taught me that is our home land and we must love and defend it.
