Today is "friends with benefits day". Do you think a real friendship with no other intentions could exist between a Man and a Woman?

It may never come to anything, but there will always be a certain level of sexual awareness, even enjoyment, between such friends. Even if they never overtly acknowledge it.

One or the other is eventually going to harbor "some" feelings. It's inevitable. No matter how things are intrepeted, sooner or later one of them will. That does not mean however that they have to actually do something about it though.

not if they feel attraction to each other. if u have an attractive person as a friend, then u can't help yourself, unless u can control yourself & find someone better.

Of course such relationships exist. I would imagine the only folks who think otherwise are the shallow ones whose only goal in friendship with the opposite sex is a roll in the hay.

    It's already happening.

Look at Japan, with its 草食系男子 ("sōshokukei danshi"; "grass-eating/herbivorous men").

    http://edition.cnn.com/2009/W...
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/com...

If the sources above are accurate, this is not just s fringe group. It is a significant portion of Japan's society and could amplify the great 1 of the 2 social (and economic) troubles of Japan: a dangerously low birth-rate.

I have two lady friends of my that I've seen with nothing on and still never had benefits from. Being friends with the opposite sex does not mean "with benefits", it just means you are friends with the opposite sex.

By nature, we are not built that way. It is only by the grace of our intellect we can go against nature and strive for something more.

For sure this can happen. I have been friends for 20 years with a woman who lives right behind me. During that time she has dated others and for a few years lived with a man in Pa.. When they split and she returned the friendship resumed.

This is not a "with benefits" friendship. She proposed that awhile after we became friends but that would not have worked. A friendship between a man and a woman won't always pan out though. Emotions have an illogical "mind of their own". One is liable to eventually want more than the other is willing to give.

The majority of my friends have always been guys, there was never any issues because it was made clear that that's all it would ever be. Men were easier to be friends with there was/is a lot less drama and other issues with men than women making it an easier friendship most of the time.

I'm really not sure...from my experience, anything could happen. I'm back to my same friend with benefits of a little more than a year now. We have a mutual love and respect for each other, attraction is there too...but who knows. So far I feel like he could be one of my best friends. Can tell him almost anything. Some things I just won't tell just because he'll possibly go off the deep end and on a killing spree. So yeah, who knows...
