There is a road between Sealy and Bellville in TX that is always a bottleneck. A tiny outcrop along a nice lake (Somerville) survives on Houstonions renting and buying places in that area for vacation homes. There's nothing else up there except a beautiful, pristine lake(reservoir). Houstonions go every weekend, spend money in the local stores, restaurants etc. They giv e life to that area. But the road was thin, bumpy and clogged.

Now, TX used some of its stimulus money to widen the road into 2 lanes either side, making it easier for weekend traffic. More people will now consider buying a place up there (enriching an impoverished community) and helping local businesses, from the marinas, to the restaurants and even the US corps of engineers.

Thank you Obama and Rick Perry (our governor) for ensuring that the wealth of a big city (Houston) benefits the boonies in TX. Surely a good thing.
You!

On a smaller scale, my mother got to spend the stimulus money given to the hospital she works at. She did some great things with it.

I'm sure all the future generations that have to pay for it will be happy....

no it's already paid for by the stimulus. But will it increase business in some parts of TX.... why yest it has already. You should be glad. Just like that republican Bob McDonnell was recently when he admitted tha the stimulus had helped his state, not to mention Arnold who also had the balls to admit it too.
