Tim Tebow Has a Sandwich Named After Him: Tasty or Terrible?

Tim Tebow is officially a celebrity -- and he has his own sandwich to prove it. The 24-year-old quarterback, who was acquired by the New York Jets last month, now has his own "Jet Bow" sandwich at New York City's Carnegie Deli. The massive sandwich, which weighs about 4 lbs. and costs a whopping $22.22, consists of pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise all stacked on white bread. It doesn't get more all-American than that. Kudos to Mr. Tebow.

tebow sandwich

"Seventy-five years, we've always made sandwiches on rye bread," Carnegie's Sandy Levine told CBS. "This time, we put it on white bread and we used mayonnaise, not mustard. This is sacrosanct in delis, but we realize who Tim Tebow is. He's an outstanding citizen. He's the all-American boy." Do you think the Tebow sandwich sounds tempting? Or is it more like an (expensive) heart attack waiting to happen?

I agree. It's very tasty but much too eat and I would never eat anything for $22.22.

At 4 pounds, one could feed a whole family of 4 at a cost of $5.55 per person. This is tasty as well as a bargain!!

It sounds tasty, but before you eat it, better make a reservation for a stomach pump, and a cardiologist just in case! This sandwich makes Wendy's "Baconator" look like a White Castle slider

Looks delicious to me. But how many people is it supposed to feed??? Looks more like a food spread catered for large reception than a meal. Yikes!

God bless you, Tim! Hope the sandwich is a big success (as a family meal, lol), and that you have even greater success w. the Jets. and for all you Tebow criticizers- is that just your envy showing?

Cool name for a sandwich though. :)

Feel bad for the cow that was slaughtered for it. Since it took a whole one.

Should sell well at the Jests games. Could feed a family of four. Call it the Tebow Family Pack and sell it it with 4 tickest.Total Cost $160. The Jets got Tebow to sell tickets not to win games.

I could feed myself for a week with that sandwhich. So for 22 bucks and change, it's darn well worth it.

Not exactly a sandwich, you need a knife and fork. Actually not a bad price, you do worse at Mc Donalds. A couple mushy burgers and fries will cost $10.

If you buy a McDonald's Fish Filet Sandwich, with fries and a drink that is $5. Same with many of their other number specials. What kind of quality do you really get.? If someone wants a couple cheese burgers with fries that comes to about $10.

Looks great for three meals. How could anybody eat one in one sitting? Order the sandwich and a "doggie bag" and you will do just fine. It looks like there may even be enough to share a portion with a dog.

If you order one a month and have your cholesterol checked regularly, you will be OK!
