Sharks in general are harmless. Most species kill 0 people every year, and the handful or two of deaths from sharks are from just 5 or so species.
Its amazing how the media has convinced us to be afraid of nearly harmless things like sharks or terrorism.
I'm far more afraid of dying from adverse reactions to prescription drugs, or the threat of an economic collapse killing me than cute little old sharks.

At all!
Humans aren't part of a Shark's diet. They only attack because their vision isn't that good
I enjoy watching the documentaries on them. These creatures are vicious, deadly but are so majestic from view.
I like great whites and Tiger sharks best. This week is going to be a good week for Tv.

I saw on Shark Wranglers last night that sharks normally take a curiosity bite. One reason most shark attacks on humans aren't fatal is because sharks are looking for fatty prey. They take that first bite and hit bone and realize they bit the wrong thing. Of course that doesn't help if you end up bleeding to death.
Here are some tips, don't swim if you are bleeding in any way, don't swim at dusk or dawn, don't swim near river mouths to the ocean, and don't swim in known shark estuaries.
And of course its always wise to take some safely precautions when dealing with any animal, even your own family pet. Anything that can harm you should be respected to a certain extent.
