"This is gay"

Well I don't find offense to it as I use to. However, it does make me realize how immature and stupid people are when using Gay as an insult. There's several words to choose from to describe something as stupid (Stupid being one of the words), and if Gay is the only one a person can choose, that definitely shows a weak vocabulary.

It's something my generation says and it's a force of habit. Not gonna waste precious moments of my life re-training myself to say something else. They're just words...

People who know me and have experienced my reaction rarely repeat the word around me. It's derogatory and other words can be used. I have no issues with swear words or anything but this is something that is offensive to a whole group of people. When you say it, you're equating being gay with being stupid. It's completely rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary as there are other words that can be said without hurting people.
I know that in general people don't mean it to offend and most of those people have no issues with homosexuality but it, like other offensive terms like "slut" and "whore", that are thrown around unnecessarily, need to be eradicated. It doesn't matter that your intentions aren't harmful, it can still hurt.

I think it's derogatory, however I know people usually don't mean it like that, so I just ignore it, and people usually stop after they say it and give me a :/ look, because I'm gay myself XD bwahaha

I usually don't say anything, depending on the person and situation. It doesn't necessarily offend me because I recognize that the people who say that are, in fact, idiots. Because idiots make me angry, I get mad when they use that word in place of "stupid"!

They mean using "gay" in the context of something that's stupid. Which basically implies that gay people are stupid (or any derogatory term) like whatever they are attempting to describe is. Which can be offensive.

Well you said, "Its a word", but it is not a word that means stupid, so sure your gay friends use it.
I don't use the word "good" instead of "bad" any more than I would use "gay" instead of "stupid". Just use the proper word...

I myself have never said it that way about any thing. I'm not saying that I never said the word gay, just not in that way.

Not really offensive, but it's a stupid way to say you don't like something. It makes the person look immature.
