Up to 1.2 million tax preparers make a living navigating the labyrinth US tax code for taxpayers. We have more professional tax preparers in the United States than law enforcement officers (765,000) and professional firefighters (310,400) combined.

The PROGRESSIVE income tax has never been intended for anything other than being a weapon to promote class warfare
Less confusion = Less stress = Less frustration = Less anger = Less violence = PEACE !
"In my book, ‘justice for all’ means ANYONE making a dime (NO EXCEPTIONS) should pay some tax whether it’s a flat tax (somewhere between 10-20%), or a ‘progressive’ tax (not less than 2% and not exceeding 15%). Eliminate the ‘earned’ income credit (now there’s an oxymoron) and child deductions; that alone promotes personal responsibility. This way, EVERYONE has skin in the game."
The only tax that should exist in a "free" country is a consumer tax. That way the people have full control over their earnings and the amount they save and spend in taxes. The poor can save by only purchasing the items they truely need to survive. The rich will pay more in taxes based on the fact they buy more and spend on more expensive items. In the end though, whether rich or poor, each person has full control over what they buy and therefore how much they pay in taxes. If you dont agree with how your taxes are being uses, then you can not buy anything as a form of protest against the govenrments use of tax money.
It's a sad state of affairs.
Simpler systems make for a greater deal of fairness and happiness.
Flat tax.
How much did you make? We'll take 20%
Paid in 30%, get back 10%, Paid in 10% pay in 10%
No credits, or write offs .... Thank you.
End of form.
Or don't tax wages at all , but rather tax goods and services. -Fair Tax.
The more you spend the more you pay. Seems more practical
I personally like the Fair Tax.
Now, how about people look up the Paperwork Reduction Act? How about they then find the ODM number assigned to the 1040 form, required to use any document for legal purposes in the US Govt. There is no such number assigned to the 1040 form, because it is a bootleg document using a fake ODM number. A number required by law to be reissued every 2.5 years, maximum 3 years. The IRS used the same bootleg or bogus ODM for over 20 years. You cannot be asked to file a 1040 form, since the document does not exist on legal grounds stipulated by Congress.
This is a case that shows it in black white:
