Welcome to West Texas. This is as close as you can get without saddeling up and going there.

Wyman
graduated from Texas Tech University. When he graduated, he moved back to a ranch near
Benjamin so he could begin his photography. He lived in a dugout for a few
months, to be in the middle of the roadrunners, coyotes, and snakes.
Tremendous work.

If you're from Texas or just love the outdoors and wild
life..this will stir your heart! Enjoy.

You will love Big Bend. No place like it on earth. One the right day you can hear hoof-beats. On the right evening you can see the Marfa Lights.

Thanks Wolfman, That would be a great motorcycle trip. Texans love to visit Colorado and a lot of them come to Salida in the summer, they are some of the nicest people I've met.

We do love Colorado when it is hot in Texas. Ride your iron horse to Big Bend in the spring or fall. Good camping.

I know about that, had some Texans tell me how hot and dry it was this last summer while I was working at Walmart pushing in the shopping carts, we get hot here in CO but not that hot, I agree spring or fall would a good time to ride there; just like going to Laughlin, Nevada, just after labor day is a good time to go there on in the late spring is good.

My dad is holding up some top soil in either Odessa or San Antonio, visited him when he lived in Kerrville, loved the scorpions and tarantulas, can't say much for the fire ants, loved the deer, turkeys and 'dillos, all in all a fun summer. My brother lives in Allen/north Dallas, my mom died in McKinney. I believe my family first started to go their in '46 when Santa Ana started shootin' his mouth off, after he got his ass kicked the first time. Family's been oddly drawn there from the mid west ever since.

I went to Jr High in Rapid City, HS in Cheynne and Rawlins, loved the wind in the pines on a knee deep winters day, learned why you don't wear tennis shoes to ride horses, lived in Washington State near Seattle and went up on the timber trails in a '73 Land Cruiser, climbed mountains, tried to ride down Jack Rabbits...........Just can't squeeze enough real living out of a Chi-town city block..........

Thanks for the invite and the video, I miss the mountain streams and the clean air, great pic's.

Home is where the cold is, I've seen too many heat cracks wider than an inch to know that's gotta hurt skin. Now we live about a mile from Lake Michigan, unfortunately if I look the wrong way I can see Chi-town.

Been here.......Square Top Mountain, Green River Lakes, Wyo..........all up hill from here....

I had a Stetson, though not at the same time as the rest of the "gear". And we had cattle drives in Wyo and SD. Bet you never let your horse slobber in it.
