I was just on a post where it was talking about how the wealthy finds ways out of paying taxes so the burden is put on the middle class and the poor. I was watching some videos on You Tube and did some reading about if we would have slashed the Bush tax cuts, would it have really helped, i did not think about this before but from what i found out, it would not matter if we raised taxes on the wealthy or not. There are so many loop holes, they would find a way out of most of them anyways.
I know Fair Tax and Flat Tax have come up a lot over the last 20+ years and to be honest i think it would be a good idea to go forward with this type of Tax System. Everyone pays, You, Me, People Visiting the country, and undocumented workers. Those that are against healthcare for all, well one of these tax systems would pay for it and it would not be a burden on a certain group of tax payers, everyone pays and everyone benefits.
In the slide-show i posted Democrats and Republicans talking about Fair Tax and how it would benefit Every American. I consider my self more of a Democrat, well a JFK democrat than i do a Republican. I think both parties to some degree support it, but are afraid to pass it. Is it time we vote for Fair Tax friendly candidates?

I want everyone opinions, there is no right or wrong opinion. Everyone can learn something from someone and maybe we could all put our heads together and come up with a logical answer, It does not seem congress can do anything to fix the current mess we are in, Both Parties have had their chances and it is doing nothing but getting worse. Placing blame on this or placing blame on that. Half the country is for one thing and the other half is for something else. Well if those two halves come together and discuss it maybe we can actually fight for one thing instead continuing on the same path we are on. It does not matter if one party is right and the other is wrong, as long as we have these two parties fighting over right or wrong, nothing is going to get done and the situation is going to get worse.

The "Fair Tax" is based on a falsehood in how it is calculated. It claims to be a 23% tax, but is actually 30% if you calculate it the way every other tax is calculated. It would also decrease the tax burden on the rich and increase the tax burden on the middle class, precisely at a time when the rich are getting richer and the middle class are getting poorer.

Well i understand what you are claiming, but a person that makes lets say $15 an hour and works 40 hours a week would earn $600 a week instead of $420 a week, that is based on a 30% income tax It could be a bit lower or higher but not enough to argue about. So $ with an additional $180 a week in payroll, i would think this would help the people that do not earn as much by the hour. Shrugs but it seams that other countries like Canada and European countries are doing very well on this type of tax code. Here is one article i read, let me know what you think

The person making $15 an hour, working 50 weeks in a year would make $30k, putting them in the 15% income tax bracket. The "Fair Tax" would actually end up approximately doubling their tax burden.

With Fair tax there should not be an income tax. This is supposed to eliminate the need for an IRS

True, but comparing tax burdens under the plans to current tax burdens is entirely reasonable.
