Hmmm....I'm a REAL split decision about this. On one hand, it's good that these guys are getting in touch with themselves, but on the other hand, I like a guy who KNOWS what to do in the bedroom and I think they fall short in that area. And yes, life IS more important than work!

This is most likely just an excessive rebellion against ultra-conservative (and consumerist) views on gender roles and the workaholic tendencies that Japan has been known for and has contributed to their infamously high suicide rate.

If their culture and economy change over time to focus less on corporate devotion and pressure to marry for reasons other than love, the numbers of effeminate men in Japan should become less prominent.

It seems many of the boys from America are going through there own girlie man phase. If they ever wake up and become real men I am sure they will be disgusted by what they once were but honestly I doubt they will ever become real men they must be the future liberals.

I've read about that...it made me cry. Younger men there are starting to want women to protect them. The men want to be little, and feminine, and "cute." T^T

Why do they call them girlie man. Even-though some may be gay, but as far as can understand from reading.These young men just want to live a average normal life stress-free from the competition of having the best cars and more money than the other men. And the women the same. What is wrong with that?. Too live a stress-free normal life sounds good to me...

If we had to put up with the "metrosexual" stage it's only fitting that someone else does, as well.
