Well I enjoyed both..Both great Patriotic movies..I like the plot of the original Dawn better but the new one has great moments..I would of loved to seen the 2012 technology and effects in the 1984 version..Nevertheless I really loved both..The remake was very good in my opinion..The original Red Dawn or the new Red Dawn?

Im more old school..Im more partial to the original 'Red Dawn'..I didnt mind the new look 'Red Dawn'..But if U hav seen both films..U hav to see that the new film doesnt hav a definitive finale..just like a 'Lord Of The Rings' movie..It doesnt hav a real finale..It looks like they set it up 4 a sequel..4 instance they may have killed the North Korean comman-der ..but the Russian special forces commander was still after them..They didnt kill him yet
They only liberated a prison camp at the end..not the Seattle..or Washington State area.. So there must B a sequel on the way..

I think they were both good movies.

The first one (1984) having to do with the United States being invaded by the Soviet Union and its Cuban and Nicaraguan allies.

The second Red Dawn (2012) having to do with a militant North Korea and ultranationalist-controlled Russia invading the United States with cyberwarfare ( electromagnetic pulse bomb-EMP) neutralizing all of Americas communications and computer controlled weapons.

Both versions of Red Dawn were about normal Americans caught up in a battle for freedom, and how they fought to preserve Americas liberties of freedom, turning regular arms possessing citizens into unwitting guerrilla patriots who were forced to fight for their freedoms or die!

Which is why foreign nations have not tried to invade America today, because Americans have more personal weapons owned by it's citizens than the rest of the world combined.

Thank God for the right to bear arms!

Not a perfect system, but it keeps the wolves at bey!
