Actually, "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" was a 1972 movie that was the fourth of the original series of movies and starred Roddy McDowall as the original Ceasar character. In this plot, North America in the future is a police state and Apes, because of the intelligent nature, are turned into slaves and mistreated. McDowall,s Ceasar leads the apes in a widespread revolt and fight a bloody battle against the police which they eventually win. This new Apes movie is based very loosely on the ,72 movie but with numerous plot changes. While I enjoyed both , I kinda like this new plot and it explains how the apes gain their advanced intelligence.
I loved all the old Planet of the Apes but this one came up to our culture & level of fun just as well. One of the closing scenes is on the Golden Gate Bridge. Cesar did something on the Golden Gate Bridge I expected. It's a spoiler so maybe I shouldn't answer if someone asks.
Oh yes you are right. It's well noticed! I just happened to read this book a shortly before the movie came out. I tend to have a feeling about something that runs away with the whole matter!
The movie & the book are completely different. The movie is not based on this book at all. They simply came into my life at the same time. Both are fabulous, exciting, & very pro-animal.
I was a big cry baby during the whole thing though.
I'd definitely watch it again.
