I actually feel really bad for the shooters.. the way they ended up. Not so much Eric though, but mostly Dylan. Reading Dylan's journals made me feel like I could relate to how he was feeling. Everyone treats them like they weren't victims too, but in a way, they were.
From what I have read, it seemed like the cops were working too slow to stop what happened.
I don't blame the parents because there are other things that affected them, and I just think it's a shame that the parents weren't able to connect everything together and see what Dylan and Eric were going to do.
    It's all really sad.

I just think that there are people born to be bad people. In this case two of them found each other and went out and started killing. The Columbine shootings were the most terrible school shootings of any school. My condolences to the families who lost there children to these two crazies.

This is one of those deep issues so it's really hard to say much about it without really knowing more about these kids that snapped. In psychology the factors that determine the outcome is always childhood. To really know what happened is a mathematical equation of sorts. Basically the formula is Parents+religion+morals+suppr... because of beliefs mixed in with rebellion and the generational time. Generational time is like how there was the baby boomer era versus the generation X-ers type of stuff. Ohh lest not we forget about the things we don't know of ie. child abuse, molestation, low self esteem and any related force not to mention comforting emotions that can amplify emotions like music and television. Albeit, everything looks perfect. Mom and Dad were there. Drugs is a definite factor and we must put that into the equation. Now here is where it gets crazy. Hate, if you add that force, you can bet it can get bloody.

It's hard for me to know what to say on this one, me and my friends were the bottom rung socially in high school and the teacher's never lifted a finger to defend us. Our answer was to simply skip school, we were not pscho enough to ever thinking of violent revenge on the jocks and preps. I can't say I am happy to say that it had to get to that level before schools changed to way they do things. In the 80s if a kid was tormented, by popular kids the teachers blamed the "outcast" for not being social enough...now if a kid is tormented there is "zero toleration" towards the teaser. So I guess you would have to give the school at least some small part of the blame for what happened.

I thought that schools are/were a gun-free zone where our children can go to learn.
Not a criminally corrupt propaganda operation where sex, drugs and violence permeate the corridors.
What could ever have gone so wrong?

We went wrong when we decided that the state could take better care of our kids than we could.

They were two troubled individuals, the shooters.

No one would expect for anyone to do what they did. However, they were planning it in their basements. I wish their parents would have stepped in. I heard that(from a student who was interviewed) that they shot one of the victims because of the color of their skin. These individuals were(I don't want to be too harsh...so I won't say it)....

Anyway, it made me think twice about the people I would socialize with when I went to school.
