Actually, I assumed it was a sign of the oxidation of pieces of metal in the river due to the recent heat waves. But I guess the world could be ending, too.

First--can I say the poster FAILED with regards to the link?

Second--ever heard of metal oxidization? That's why lakes turn red. It's usually brought on by heat waves.
