Marriage is an outdated practice left over from the days when women were property. Governments and religious organizations support it as it provides income for them. It has nothing to do with morality or God; it's all about money, power and control.reply - Swordfish Bingo's... 2012/09/09 19:12:19 (edited)
+1Took the words right out of my mouth. "Marriage" is a religious sacrament turned into a modern custom that now has a major role in our society. It's sad, really.reply - Bingo's... Swordfish 2012/09/09 19:43:55

A social ceremony that some couples wish to have as a symbol of their bond. Also a ceremony that many wish to restrict from others due to religious and cultural views though thankfully over time many of those views have been dropped as time goes on such as interracial marriage and to a point (so far) homosexual marriage.reply - sockpuppet 2012/09/09 17:24:41
It doesn't mean what it once did because people are willing to marry without thinking it through, and even more willing to quit when the going gets tough.reply - Sister Jean 2012/09/09 17:15:56
