Teen Makes Graduation Dress Out of Math Homework: Pretty Clever or Pretty Ugly?

Still trying to come up with a graduation dress? Look no further than your math homework. That's exactly what 17-year-old Canadian student Kara Koskowich did, using almost 75 pieces of paper to make a unique and inexpensive frock.

"For me, it's not a big, spend your money, you have to look this nice, you have to fit into this mold of grad," Koskowich told CBC. "It's supposed to look like an explosion," she added. Koskowich started making the dress in March, but didn't finish until the night before graduation. She stood beside her friend Dorothy Graham, who made her dress out of plastic shopping bags.

"It was actually funny because everyone was wearing these elegant dresses and we're in dresses that cost nothing and we were the most popular people there," Graham told CBC. What do you think of Koskowich's dress? Pretty clever -- or pretty ugly?

i've seen duct tape dresses, gum wrapper dresses and many other clever items used to make dresses for prom and such.
this one is awesome too!!!!

Very clever, but I would never give maths homework that kind of respect. I'd burn it all to the ground lol! However, I'd love to make a dress out of my art homework! :D

I don't think so, if I did something like that, I'd be proud of myself for coming up with something original and different instead of being like every other girl there who spent a whole bunch of money on something they'll probably wear once.

no...she will probably pat herself on the back for coming up with something so cool. if your proud of something you do, which it appears she clearly is, there is no reason to be embarassed by it. even if people like you try to bring her down.

Actually, I think years from now, I think she'll be happy she made herself something unique, which had meaning to her and reflected something about her school career, rather than spending hundreds on a dress worn once and put in the closet until out of style.
