That's like what I wear... I don't think generalising it as "emo" is correct either... "emo" is actually quite a rude term to classify someone as, as it usually refers to someone who is emotionally unstable who is depressed. I know a girl who cuts, and she goes around wearing pink clothing...
Also, skinny jeans are cool and so are tight shirts...

I voted crazy, but that's not to say it's a bad thing. I know people thought I dressed weird all through growing up. So I ain't here to judge. But the only beef I have with todays "cool" teen get ups is, I have a very hard time telling which ones are gay & which ones are not! One troubled teen showed up at the house being all sad about being picked on for being gay. And I was like "Wait... he's gay?!" The response I got was "Are you serious?... You can't tell? Look at how he dresses!" But to me he looked just like the rest of them. As a matter of fact he looks exactly like the kid in the picture posted with this question! I mean, EXACTLY! I literally thought it was him.

Only difference is that now "trashy" is considered "normal". Normal varies for every decade. Poodle skirts were normal at the 50's, microminis are normal today (but poodle skirts had class... which shows how low our society has gone).

i think its not that bad untl they start dressing for someone else like their friends or their bf then that is when its starts to be a little ridiculous but if they're dressing for their own kind of style then its okay b/c it's their style not saying like i dress like that

Mainstream 'slacker' fashion for teens is often hideous, but I'm partial to lolita and morigirl. I'm not a teenager, haha!

Most of it is just embarrassing. Some folks know how to be cool and original, but most teenagers just try too hard. They go to great lengths to dress like one another and intentionally put themselves under a certain label. When you run around in sagging pants, clothes that are too tight, raccoon hair, cheaply made cookie-cutter clothes from Hollister and Aeropostale, and you go out in public looking like an anemic wannabe vampire, you aren't being cool or original... at all. You look like a douche.

What's wrong with Areopostale? It's cheaper than most of the other stuff out there. If The clothes pictured above can't be considered "normal," what do you see as "normal?"

I don't like Aeropostale because everyone feels they have to wear it to fit in. Damn near everything by Aeropostale looks alike, and the company charges a lot more than that cheaply-made crap is worth. Also, I have an outspoken resentment for any clothing company that feels the need to plaster their name all over every single thing they produce -- Hollister, Aeropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, Old Navy, etc.

I do get tired of the name thing. The only reason I used to shop there was because, since the shirts were all the same, you only had to try on one and you could buy a season's worth of clothing. Now that I actually enjoy shopping for clothes, I don't mind putting in extra time to find unique things that I really like, and tend to shop elsewhere.

I don't really have one specific store where I usually buy my clothes. If I see something I like, I just get it. I've always had a fondness for the Nat Nast brand shirts, but they're far too expensive to buy on a regular basis.

I like *some* of those on certain people. I have short hair, actually and I love when guys have long hair (as long as they take care of it and it's not all yucky). Perhaps I'm biased though, being a teenager myself.

Some of it looks, well stupid and dorky, but hey, being young allows one to be stupid and dorky and even get away with it.

I grew up in the 60's.....I can't believe the crap we wore back then....its actually "embarrassing" to look at pictures.....

It's crazy when i don't know if i should get sexually turned on by a girl on the street. From 12-and up they all dress equally. Equally skanky. Don't get me wrong I like it but not when it's kids.

Ok first of all the pic of that's what you mean well mostly emo teens wear that stuff mostly anyways not all. Like not all teens dress like that some do some dont but I think it's ok.
