Tatooing babies from birth? (for identification? good idea or bad?

For some reason, my first photo was "deleted" those "picture police!" i guess the pic of the child with the tatoo was too much for mature viewers?

How about a microchip in the palm of the hand that changes colour? When you hit 30 you can either be re-newed or try Logan's Run.

I think the legal age for tattoos should be fifteen. People shouldn't be allowed to tattoo their babies, because
    1. It's extremely painful,
    2. The kid might hate it when they get older,
    3. They'll be judged their whole life for it,
    4. It'll stretch out and look weird and distorted as they grow older, and
    5. There are other ways to identify a baby. You could get a DNA test, which as far as I know is just a shot, which babies get shots for vaccination anyway.

    Bad idea.

A tattoo is a very personal thing, IMO and you can't just choose that for someone.

BAD, VERY BAD!! We've managed for thousands of years without that, I don't see the need for it now. I do believe it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18? to get a tattoo and it doesnt matter if they have parental permission or not.

Bad idea, but a tracer chip would be good. They could be made to turn off at age 18.

Bad idea, children do not belong to the government, all the furor the little libby are having over "It's my body I can do whatever I want with it" but they'd probably support this just because their party of idiots want it. Might as well be the dark ages or mark of the beast. Apparently they want everyone to get an RFID chip, I'm not for that either.

From looking at the picture, I think it's a fair bet that the government didn't tatoo that baby. Some crazy person did.

No, It's probably photoshopped on the baby, I believe it's illegal to tattoo someone under either 16 or 18. I think they'll want to tattoo a number on everyone, I definitely don't support it

Well, that's good to hear. I don't know anything about tatoos, other than I don't like them. A small pretty one isn't so bad, but all over your body,no. I keep telling my daughter that that dragonfly on her shoulder will look like a dragon when she is my age. lol

No I don't care for them. My brother had some done when he was about 20. got an infection, had to keep them out of the sun for quite a while, I don't know anybody that got them that didn't regret it. Bad thing about tattoos for ID, if you know what it looks like it can be duplicated very easily. I've seen kids do them with pens that looked legit.
On a shoulder might be ok, anything that droops with age would be weird later.
