'Tanning Mom' Says She's Innocent and Critics Are 'Jealous': Believe Her?

Have you heard about the "tanning mom" yet? Patricia Krentcil of New Jersey has been accused of taking her 6-year-old daughter into a tanning booth, causing skin burns ... but she says she's innocent and her critics are "jealous."

"I'm innocent and it's proven... I would never -- never -- put my daughter in a tanning booth. We go out shopping. That's what we do," Krentcil told TMZ on Thursday. "Any mother that makes an accusation about me is not a mother, because I'm a great mother and I would never do that to my child." When asked by TMZ if she's the target of a witch hunt, Krentcil replied: "Yes. Yes. There's somebody out there on my whole life that doesn't like me because they're jealous, they're fat and they're ugly."

Krentcil does have some people on her side, though. The owner of City Tropics Salon in Nutley said employees who were there that day told him the girl remained outside with her father and brother and didn't go into the tanning booth while Krentcil was inside, CBS and The Associated Press report. New Jersey state law prohibits anyone under 14 from using a tanning salon.

Krentcil, who faces a second-degree child endangerment charge, pleaded not guilty in Newark Municipal Court on Wednesday morning; she's now free on a $2,500 cash bond. Police told The Nutley Sun newspaper they were called to the child's school April 24 because the kindergartner was in pain from a "pretty severe sunburn," and that she was complaining of itching, saying she had been to a tanning salon with her mom. Krentcil says her little girl got a sunburn from being outside on a warm day.

Cindy Crawford is older than this woman, has pale skin, and looks far younger than this woman. Cindy looks like she's in her late 30's. This tanned lizard of a woman, looks like she's 62 and she's only 42 years old.

I believe she believes others are jealous, but I also believe she is freakin nuts! Who would be jealous of looking like bad leather tanning

Bull shiat, you have not seen any black with skin that look like baked leather, you are trying to make fun of black people in your little cowardly conservative way. Not one black person in my life that i have seen looks like they spent a decade in a leather tannery.

You need your eyes checked. Any sane person with eyes that work can tell that's a white person with a seriously bad tan, and seriously prematurely aged skin because of it.

Well since you had to go there... No the woman pictured above is not black or latin. She's "white". Black and Latin people have beautifully tanned skin naturally, so we don't have to do stupid things like whiteys do every summer in order to make ourselves look more attractive. We don't have the albino genes

I don't think that little girl would have even been allowed to go into the tanning bed. I mean surely there were salon employees there... But the real issue is her appearance, she looks like she was baptized in Nutella

I guess these people just don't get it. I'm very fair skinned, so I burn, not tan. I do my best to stay out of the sun too long. I don't want to end up with that skin cancer. It has killed alot of people.

I'm black and I think it looks so fake when white people purposely tan. Gee, BECAUSE IT IS FAKE. A white person that eats well, exercises, etc. looks far better than someone who's just worried about getting a tan

That's for sure. As it happens I can't tan anyway, and that's ok by me. Women don't realize that when they are 40 and have tanned for years that they'll look 70 years old. No way do I want to look 30 years older than I am!!! So I am careful about the sun. I wear sunblock if I'm out anywhere.

Not if it blocks your pores, which I'm sure most of it does. It's been my understanding she is constantly in a tanning booth, and if you are in it long enough and often enough like she is, that's what you'll look like.

this picture may have been photo shopped. I saw her on television and she was not this color or texture in her face, it also showed a picture of her daughter on screen and her mother was not in this photo. it may be an outrageous story but no need for the inhanced imbelishment.
