Do you live in your worn-out Converse? This may reveal your age, income, sex and what kind of girlfriend or boyfriend you are, according to a new study. After reviewing photos of boots, flip-flops, lace-ups, loafers, sandals and sneakers -- the most common type of shoe submitted in the study -- people were best at figuring out a person's age, sex and income, the "Today" show reports.
"Age, gender, and income are usually pretty 'visible" characteristics [from shoes], so it's not surprising that observers picked up on them," study researcher Dr. Angela Bahns, an assistant professor of psychology at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass., told "Today."
But researchers were surprised that study participants could also guess whether a person had "attachment anxiety" based on his or her footwear, meaning, how worried a person is that his or her close relationships will abandon them. How can you tell if someone is a clingy girlfriend based on what kind of sneakers she is wearing? Shoe upkeep (or lack thereof) may reveal if you are laid back or more of the nervous type. Something to keep in mind next time you polish your shoes!

As far as attachment anxiety, I have a bit of that, but my shoes aren't necessarily high-maintenance. I just have a fear of abandonment from... well... actually being abandoned by those close to me... repeatedly.
Do they say “allot” about me? ;')
Other than those I wear my Converse in the summer time usually. The boots I tend to wear the rest of the time, but sometimes I wear those in the summer too. Depends on if I'm willing to put on knee-high socks or not.

I wear loafers when I need to dress for the occasion, I wear boots when I'm meeting on a jobsite, I wear flip flops at the beach (which is rare for me), but in my free time, I prefer sneakers for comfort.
