Do you live in your worn-out Converse? This may reveal your age, income, sex and what kind of girlfriend or boyfriend you are, according to a new study. After reviewing photos of boots, flip-flops, lace-ups, loafers, sandals and sneakers -- the most common type of shoe submitted in the study -- people were best at figuring out a person's age, sex and income, the "Today" show reports.
"Age, gender, and income are usually pretty 'visible" characteristics [from shoes], so it's not surprising that observers picked up on them," study researcher Dr. Angela Bahns, an assistant professor of psychology at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass., told "Today."
But researchers were surprised that study participants could also guess whether a person had "attachment anxiety" based on his or her footwear, meaning, how worried a person is that his or her close relationships will abandon them. How can you tell if someone is a clingy girlfriend based on what kind of sneakers she is wearing? Shoe upkeep (or lack thereof) may reveal if you are laid back or more of the nervous type. Something to keep in mind next time you polish your shoes!

Not the kind of girl who leaves the house in flats.. or owns a pair other than for the gym.
Seriously, I spend my summer in Birkenstocks and my winter in Doc Martens... I have some nice heels and flats for special occasions and the like, but I love my Birks and Docs.
