CA.NEWS.YAHOO.COM reports:
Organic produce and meat typically isn't any better for you than conventional varieties when it comes to vitamin and nutrient content, according to a new review of the evidence. But organic options may live up to their billing of lowering exposure to pesticide residue and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, researchers from Stanford University and the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System found.

The study only shows its the same in Vitamin and Nutrient content, it fails to mention the potential harm of certain chemicals and hormones contained in non-organic food, regardless, I prefer organic not because of possible health benefits but because of taste and composition and although it may cost more, I end up getting more for my money.

and it's very real possibility that all homosexuals carry HIV or AIDS.

my wife and I and our kids and our parents and grand parents, etc ONLY drink raw milk. We never get sick of any kind.

How many other dairy farmers drink raw milk? PROVE your statement with proof that dairy farmers, drinking raw mile, have an epidemic of TB!!!!! The environment I work it, we have to take a TB test every year. not ONE person has it. where I work, there are over 1000 people and it's a farming community.

With proof? Why do you think they put you through a TB test every year? The general public who drink pasteurized milk aren't put through that. Does that tell you anything????
Pasteurizing milk began back in the day when there was a serious epidemic of TB because of the cows and raw milk and pasteurization has continued to safeguard against another epidemic. I don't have to PROVE anything to you.........just recap on your history. And if you want to continue drinking raw milk go right ahead, I couldn't give a damn whether you get sick or not, just don't expect others to jump off a cliff behind you. There must be some reason you feel so defensive about drinking it.
The homemade cheese around here has had a recall more than once because the mennonites make it from raw milk and sell it without any gov't inspection - there have been serious problems with it.

I'm only 2 of all the people at work that drinks raw milk. my job is in a public environment that deals with many illnesses.... so what's your PROOF that TB events are increasing due to raw milk as you claim.

My WHOLE point (which you turned into a campaign and attacks against me) IS IF I CHOOSE TO HAVE RAW MILK OR IF MY NEIGHBOR WANTS TO BUY RAW MILK WTF IS IT ANY BUSINESS OF THE GOVERNMENT TO BAN US FROM OUR PERSONAL FREEDOM OF CHOICE? 100's of Amish people live around me and they are not sick from raw milk. Just because you have a personal vendetta to be argumentative shows a complete lack of intellegence.

PROVE the TB outbreak as it is related to raw milk consumption... where's you data, were's undeniable facts????

you can't substaniate your claims then you are completely clueless.

Just because a person doesn't agree with you doesn't make them argumentative or mean they are attacking you. Besides, it looks like you are taking out your war with the gov't on everyone on this thread about your not being able to legally give, sell or drink raw milk. Take your anger and defensiveness up with the gov't and tell THEM to prove everything to you. I've got better ways to spend my time than to take flack from someone who isn't even intelligent enough to spell intelligence or substantiate properly. You're not debating, you're just looking for human punching bags and being a nuisance. Go away.

My Grandparents milked a cow everyday. I churned butter when I was 12 years old the old fashioned way. Milk from a cow is cleaner than what you are getting from a plastic jug. I never liked the taste straight from a cow, to be truthful with you. It has to be pasterized.

yeah raw straight from a cow = good, not raw from a supermarket where it could of been days since the raw milk saw a cow, allowing bacteria to build up.
    I drink raw milk.
I was explaining why it was illegal to buy/sell.

There are more factors to take in then just immediate nutritional value, theres environmental impact, animal/plant health and quality of life, Genetic modification of animals and plants and of course pesticides, herbicides and hormones.

Plus organic tastes better and here it is not nearly as expensive as in the US, its 1/3 more expensive then non-organic produce, unlike in the US where it can get up to as much as double the price of non-organic.

The problem I have with organic, how do you know it is organic? They just sell it as it is. If you plant a garden with the seeds you buy at Wall Mart, you are not getting virgin seeds. We bought some tomato plants this year and the plants themselves grew tall. But, the tomatoes were very small and very tough. We will not try that again next year. Our food has been gentically altered. The nutritional value is not the same anymore.

We grow our own or buy directly from the farmer/farm.
you can look for virgin seeds, normally at a farmers market, talk to the farmer him/herself as what you can expect everything to look like, do, harvest by.
Our tomatoes are large and juicy.

It may be the same in regards to nutritional value, however in with some foods, pesticides cannot be washed off as they are incorporated into the skin as in apples. This in large quantities can cause cancer.
Strawberries, blueberries and broccoli absorb a lot of pesticide too.

Organic does not mean super-food or fat free or something. You eat 10 pounds of organic chocolate you better believe your going to gain weight. BUT it is healthier because it does not contain harsh chemicals that are linked to things like cancer, Alzheimer, kidney failure, etc. And conventionally grown produce/ food DOES. I mean really, who thought organic meant more nutrients, vitamins, and minerals? Hold your hand high please so I can smack you.

I never thought that organic produce had more nutrients. Who DOES think that? Organic produce is healthier because it's not full of pesticides, herbicides and hormones. Not only that, but in many cases it tastes better. And it's definitely more eco-friendly.

Yet again the media puts the spin on reality. First of all, vitamin and mineral content was never in the debate against GMO's. Vitamin and Mineral content are not the only factors when looking into what is healthy or not. In fact, if the vitamin and mineral content are the same, then the increased levels of pesticides, artificial additives, and just the general potential risk of GMO foods would mean that Organic is still much healthier.

It is not the amount of vitamines that are in organic that makes it healthier but the fact that it doesn't have as many chemicals as non organic.

If you don't want GMO, Toxins, Hormons, etc. in your food.

But, US has GMO Corn Syrup in everything, maybe this why food in US sucks, makes you fat (corn syrup makes you feel hungry all the time) & if research is correct about GMO, than it will make third generation of Americans almost completely sterile. ))

Europe banned Corn Syrup & GMO.

gmo generation americans completely sterile europe banned corn syrup gmo

GMOs cross-contaminate other crops, are linked to serious allergies, weight gain, sterility, and even organ damage. They are banned in several other countries and labeled in many more, which raises the question of why the United States doesn’t have the type of transparency that so many other countries do so consumers can avoid the GMO-laced products if they so choose. http://www.deathrattlesports....

What the pro organic people don;t want you to know is it takes more acres of land to produce the same amount of food as your standard way. Almost twice as much and they lose nearly half the produce grown to infestation or other natural disasters.

I have eaten both and can't tell any difference in the texture or taste of the two and frankly it is a waste of money and a scam in the stores. If you are worried about exposure of chemicals just wash them before cooking and eating them.

Do the pro organic people not want anyone to know that? I've always heard that quoted as the reason for it's higher cost.
