Women are less likely to step out of the car and get into a fist fight over a minor incident.

Harris Interactive surveys are based only on self reporting- they are not scientifically valid. I complete surveys for this company.

I am a woman and I tend to get quite upset on the road. I didn't know I was in the majority. I give the finger, I scream, I honk that horn like mad. I am such a nice lady off road. I think it's because men tend to think woman are non entities on the road and we have to be assertive. But here's a secret.... it is so cathartic!

I'm sorry to say I have to go against the women for a change, I always side with women for some reason. I'm basing my answer mostly from what my wife says. She works in an office of 50 women, and they say that women are the more aggressive drivers. So, I guess I am siding with the women again and I didn't even realize it. I'm still on the tank of gas I filled on 1/25/12, that's how little I drive because of my being house bound, so I'm not in the mix of drivers as most normal humans.

As a professional truck driver, I have been known to whisper a few not so nice comments about the way drivers of cars don't use their turn signals, and cut me off, and drive slower than the posted speed limit. But my wife, I have heard her say things to other drivers that she won't even say to me in the heat of passion. I have seen her flip the bird and stare down people in the other car. Sometimes I am afraid she is going to piss off the wrong person and I am going to get my ass beat.

Sure... and when you are flying your invisible plane no woman ever gave you the finger when you cut her off. ( I am being sarcastic and joking. Some people don't know that and get really agrivated at some of my responses. I just wanted you to know that.)

It depends on many factors: like upbringing, socioeconomic background, even family constellation but not men/women.

I am sure the stats showed that as correct but that conclusioncould change based on another city, etc.

In a studdy like this one side will always win because it is a one side vs. another side - badly defined poll .

Studies can be made to show an outcome that the originators want. By selecting certain times of day, cities, locations within and without...statistics of working women to men, children per family, age of inhabitants, demographics, etc... get the picture

Anybody can have blowups from stress...we all are under tremendous stress, some more than others....but men tend to act out more often on their stress.....
You generally don't see bars full of women sitting around drinking to excess after a bad day....Women just generally tend to handle their stress better...it seems to me...
I get ticked off at drivers, but I talk to myself about it in the car...I don't drive like an idiot as regards the other car, or flick them off, or pull in front of them and hit my brakes...all things I have seem male drivers do....and more...

Well going on myself.....no. But on observing others, I would say it's about the same. I won't say I don't say "Stupid ass" or other terms when I'm driving, but I keep it in my car, no yelling out the window at them or giving anyone the bird! What really annoys me is when people don't use cruise control and they speed up, then slow down as they start talking (right foot is controlled by their mouths), I just wait for my chance to get around them, then may speed for a few miles just to get ahead of them! God knows I'm no Angel!

I don't see it. It's mostly men getting beyond upset when they actually duke it out with someone, or worse, bring a gun into the situation. That is having serious issues.

My Husband used to beat on the dash (He was always riding, never drove much) and keep telling me to flip them off, I'd keep saying "what good does that do?" Just smile at them (if they act like their doing it intentionally) and that really gets them ticked! LOL I had one on the freeway one day that I was watching weaving in and out of lanes trying to get ahead, It was two lanes and by the time he got behind me I had lined up beside a car that was doing the speed limit and I did to. I watched him in the mirror bouncing back and forth and getting mad and I just kept looking at him and when he looked at me I'd just smile. He was getting red faced with anger that I finally had enough of that game and let him by. Told hubby about it when I got him and the said "it's women like you that get us ticked off!" LOL If men would calm down a little that wouldn't happen, you should be prepared to have to do the speed limit now and then!

Maybe, but only because women tend to be more emotional. That being said, I don't think female road rage turns violent the way male road rage does.

And it does not sound right.

On the other hand I learned my, very, cool, driving attitude from a male instructor.
