Student killed in love triangle involving teacher

- Police in Chandler say a high school student involved in a love triangle with his 48-year-old math teacher was stabbed to death after the older woman's 20-year-old boyfriend found them together in her bedroom.
Police said Tuesday that Sixto Balbuena found his girlfriend naked and the 18-year-old student in his boxer shorts in the woman's bedroom around 2:40 a.m. Friday.
Balbuena told police that Samuel Valdivia apologized to him before Balbuena began kicking and punching him, and throwing things at him.
A police probable cause statement says Balbuena told them he ``wanted to teach the victim a lesson,'' and stabbed him in the lower side with a kitchen knife. Valdivia later died at a hospital.
Balbuena was arrested on a second-degree murder charge. He does not yet have a lawyer.
Police said Valdivia was stabbed in the home of his El Dorado High School teacher, Tamara Hofmann. They said Balbuena, a sailor on leave, claimed to be Hofmann's fiance.

But on the other hand, the kid was stupid for getting into that crap in the first place. I mean, if he's having some sort of secret thing with his teacher who is old enough to be his mother, he's going to get caught or in trouble.
Couldn't you think about it and imagine if wasn't the student who was harassing her instead of the opposite? OK, she should have skipped the affair, but maybe he was way too convincing, or she was so in need of attention because her boyfriend mistreated her or what else.
And this student was no little kid... he was 18 yo, for Jeebus' sake, he knew exactly what he was doing and what consequences he could face. So stop being so false-puritan. All we know the kids know a lot more about sex than parents imagine they do--maybe they're more scholar in sex than the parents are or will ever be.
Don't go thinking your son/daughter have never thought about it or that they are completely oblivious... There are so many things you all do wrong and hide from society and now when it happens everyone comes built with the spirit of the judge-jury-executioner.
Even having her affair with this guy Balbuena started at the same way, I insist on the benefit of the doubt. She nay have a weakness for her students, and this is indeed a problem, but who can be sure the students didn't go after her first?
