Finally, at long last, a supermarket that can cater to the condiment-loving, beer-swilling, BBQ-potato-chip-eating tendencies of men. I'm sure there won't be any broccoli quiche or fresh fruit in this "man aisle." Is it a good idea to have a "man aisle" at the grocery store for shopping-challenged dudes? Or is it just perpetuating the nutritionally challenged, neanderthal-male stereotype?

FOXNEWS.COM reports:
From condoms to steak sauce, New York City dudes can shop for everything they need at the city's first “man aisle” — a portion of an Upper West Side grocery store dedicated just to them.

This is just like giving every kid a trophy, it takes away the incentive to make one's self better. We're guys, not idiots, we know where to find the beer, chips, and M&Ms.; Hell, we could probably even find powdered sugar, flour, and vanilla if you asked us nice enough.

My guys an impulse buyer, so I could see him bringing home bags of crap and forgetting things like milk. In other new, I'm not that old, but I do have a kid. Whenever I buy fruitsnacks or juice boxes the automatic coupons that print out with your receipt are for hair dye and tampons. wtf.

Given the fact most stores devote so much space catering to women, it's about time men got equal time to shop for crappy stuff.

not shopping challenged though, I know the basics of what I want and want to get outta there as fast as possible...my wife on the other hand could easily spend 3 hours in the supermarket...UGH!

Too funny. My husband hates going down various aisles to find everything. He wants to be in and out of the grocery store in 10 minutes. That is why I do the grocery shopping. My dad on the other hand is a good cook and likes to shop for different ingredients for what ever he is making, so I doubt this aisle would appeal to him.

Looks like good marketing to me! After all the hoopla dies down from all the offended PC'ers, the store will still end up with a larger market share of that demographic than its competitors nearby.

Oh yeah, because men are so mentally challenged that they cannot even identify the frozen food section. Also, I forgot that only men eat cookies and beef jerky. Horrible mistake.

sexist. I would be pissed off if they made a "woman isle" besides I love almost all the stereotypical "male" foods. However if they do make a man isle they gotta include brownie mix. My guy friend loves to bake.

Sorry to go all anti sexist on you, but that's sexist. It would only really be a man aisle if no girl would ever need any of those items for herself. For example, a woman aisle would be tampons, pregnancy tests etc. and besides, guys can and should learn to find things in a store without having to go to a special aisle.

If it attracts business, go ahead. But, it sounds insulting to men and reinforces the stereotype that all men are cavemen. Imagine if they had a woman's aisle. Gloria Allred would be up in arms saying it demeans women.

Well, looking at it, you could call it the Red Neck's aisle, or Sunday Football, on TV supplies, aisle
But it is cute to make it an aisle for men, although, to be honest I do not see it being wildly popular with NY men.

Can you imagine if they did this for women? Yes, I know there is already the feminine hygeine/make-up section, but imagine if they made a woman's isle that was, say, teeming with fat-free or 'lite' food products? Sexist? Totally. This is no different!

I'm not a man but if I think this is highly demeaning to men AND encourages an unhealthy lifestyle. My guy is a very competent and adventurous cook but he does enjoy these apparent 'man foods' from time to time - and he knows exactly where to find them in their proper aisles.

I'm sure that SOME men, young guys in particular, will embrace this, but that's not a good thing.

I guess, but they will still have to make several calls to Mom, the wife, the Bro, the girlfriend....just to ask...."What aisle exactly:"...."What shelf exactly", Where on the shelf Exactly" .... "What exactly does it say and look like"......"It's not where you said it was, so now what".....".I can't find any workers to ask"......" What, go to the service desk !!, what and where is that exactly"......I hear it all the time at the grocery....especially at the Major Holidays....Where they have been sent out on last minute shopping....BUT oddly enough,
I never hear these questions in the alcohol department....
